Good thing we have keeper extraordinaire Tim Mel--oh, dammit, eff that guy who kicked him in the head.
Sub in Peterson, pay the price. Nemeth drains that wide open cross and we laugh our way to a 3-1 victory. Fuck vermes and his fuck buddy Peterson.
I hope Besler and Zusi are done with the national team, they were gassed the 2nd half of the season. And hey let's go get some defenders to help Besler out and quit waiting on Glass Opara or douchebag Chance Meyers to never come back, k.
The fact we didn't sign another CB in the transfer window falls clearly on vermes and heinneman. Quit trying to sign fucking van der vaart and get us some fucking help. 4 weeks ago we had the highest ppg in mls, no way we should be in a Fucking knockout game
um....you guys wanted to make it dirty, and it was. I like Sporting but you guys muck up every game and want it to be ugly. Portland just brought it back at you this game.
There's a difference between playing dirty and mucking it up though. We were definitely trying to get in Nagbe's head by fouling/pressuring anytime he got on the ball, and we are never going to be afraid to foul or drag a player down to stop a counter opportunity. But Wallace's boot to Melia's face and Adi's carousel of elbows were pretty ridiculous. I will say Nemeth kicking the ball at the downed Portland player was pretty bad, but it's certainly not going to bust anyone's face open or give someone a concussion.
I know you had shitty tv, but Wallace's boot to Melia's face WASN'T EVEN CLOSE TO PURPOSEFUL. They showed 2 close replay's here (on Root tv) and he was jumping in air and completely tried to avoid it, Melia (because he was sliding) slid directly into his leg. Not even close to dirty. Nobody that is a neutral would have thought it was if you saw the replay. In fact, I thought he might have meant to do it before I saw replay....he completely tried to avoid it.
I had a good enough view of it, but in the end it's impossible to know...even with the replay: http://www.univision.com/deportes/f...o-brutal-al-portero-de-kansas-tim-melia-video IMO he could've absolutely avoided contact with Melia. He let his right foot hang down as Tim slid under him. It was probably more to try and jar the ball loose than hurt Melia, but that is still a dirty play, to me at least.
I don't disagree with Adi, but that play I don't think was. The thing is, the Timbers aren't known at all to be dirty (unless against Seattle in which case all bets are off). I really like SKC and root for them in every game that isn't against the Timbers or affects us. It was a hell of a match and I won't look at them any differently because of it. SKC and RSL I like. I can't fucking stand Seattle and LA. It was an amazing match and frankly the Timbers got lucky that ball stayed out of the back of the net. In the long run, I saw a ton of play on ESPN and other areas. It was really good for MLS to have a game like that.
Timbers are far down my list of most hated teams in MLS. I certainly don't have any problems with you guys, just a couple plays from that specific game...which is probably not atypical for any playoff match. I just hate that a lot of fanbases label us as dirty. We pressure the ball more than any club in MLS, so we are going to foul a lot and you will see a lot of "professional" fouling when guys get beat. It's a fairly effective strategy in the MLS considering the players just don't have the technical ability on the ball that other international leagues do. I can see other fanbases hating Dwyer though...he is an arrogant little shit, but he just plays at 110% all game and likes to get in people's heads.
I don't think you guys are dirty at all. My point was that if you play that way naturally you are going to get more of those kind of games than other teams in the league. There is a reason it comes up for you guys and until last night I haven't heard it come up with Portland at all. Like I said, Portland isn't consider even close to a dirty team, coffee taking the approach of throwing them in with Houston makes me laugh.
You misunderstood. I didn't say Portland was as dirty as Houston. I meant I now hate them like I hate Houston. That also has to do with the dumbass fans in the stands who were inexplicably booing Melia while he was clearly suffering concussion-like symptoms. I mean, why on earth would the fans think he was milking the injury after the yellow card was issued when time was against Sporting? Dumb.
You mean an SKC player kicked a Timbers player in the head, and the fans booed that player incessantly while he struggled to keep a grip on lucidity? Can't say I recall that incident.
Nothing confirmed but I guess the Houston chronicle ran a story saying they were trading Davis to us.
http://www.kansascity.com/sports/mls/sporting-kc/article45468786.html Sporting Park will be named Children's Mercy Park
Seems like the ownership group tried really hard to be cute in the community. I like that they care but they could have done all this without the fanfare and changing the name. Besides now the name kinda sucks.
Heinneman did a q&a on Twitter today. Nothing earth shattering. Typical lip service of us looking in Europe, keeping options open, looking at do caliber players, signing someone he called crh. Also said uri won't come back, we won't sell Nemeth, and there are no plans to increase seating sporting park.
I understand how u feel. When players don't want to be here, we try to maximize the opportunity. We're going 2 win this year - trust us - Heineman
Yeah I think we have to. Considering who we picked up I wish we still had Sapong as a target forward. Not sure who we could pick up.
Heineman said we signed a foreign Mid like 3 days ago but they have to get his work visa taken care of. We're almost 3 deep on our back 2 lines but have no true wingers and only Dom up front. This roster construction just doesn't make sense to me. I dunno.
