So is Kevin going to be buried like a bird and rise in 3 days? I assume grandpa was going to help Kevin on the other side. Grandson knew his grandfather was going to kill himself and his plan with Kevin. Left Jill at home with her mom. Nora and Lily will arrive to find her there.
That was psychotic. I love how quickly we get answers to the nagging things from this season. I did not see that ending coming. At first I thought maybe the grandson came and told him that the palm print matched. That said, I am with the help him in the afterlife buried bird explanation.
The grandson has only wanted to help people no matter what they do wrong. He seems like the only person happy in life. Everyone else has an issue or problem not him.
I love Lindelof: "You will see Kevin, or parts of Kevin, possibly memories of Kevin, Kevin's jogging pants, Maybe another character named Kevin, an adolescent game entitled 'Seven Minutes in Kevin,' and/or, but not necessarily literally, the ACTUAL Kevin, again. And soon. #GlennLives"
Thought it was funny patti jokingly mentioned his cum cup from Cairo and Cairo is on the wtf nat geo mag
My friend just told me that ep 5 (No Room At The Inn....aka Matt's episode) did nothing for him Time for new friends
A few things... Virgil is the name of Dante's guide in The Inferno I read a few people thought that Michael was being molested by Virgil when Kevin interrupted. That makes no sense to me at all. It was a little unclear but I assumed by Patti's comments about Virgil being a pedophile, that he had raped John as a kid? I don't think Virgil lives through this, but I do think he is involved in the Kevin's exorcism.
Virgil told kevin that he hurt john a long time ago and that john hurt him back (shooting him) when Michael took him to virgil's house earlier in the show.
for some reason i thought virgil was the mom's dad, and was thinking he hurt john by molesting evie or something. i guess i suck at paying attention
i thought it was clear that virgil molested john. and that john shot him in the penis to protect his kids, possibly after virgil molested them as well.
Saw this on Reddit... They're Japanese characters (二神岛) that mean "Futagamijima", an island in Japan... ... which was featured in an article in the May 1972 issue of National Geographic. What does it mean? I have no idea. The article I posted referenced that Futagamijima is known to be a small enclave where "traditional Japanese culture remains", a tourist attraction. Similar to Jarden, maybe.
I love this show. It's such an interesting story. This season has been better than I hoped it would be.
Am I the only one who thinks Nora leaving Kevin is a bit out of character for her? I mean, she spends $2 million on a whim on a house in a strange town w/ him, he tells her that he tied up a woman and tried to kill her while sleep walking and she stayed. Granted, it's crazy as shit to tell someone your seeing a person and talking to a person who's dead, but in this world and after everything Nora has been through, doesn't seem right to me that she would leave.
I mean 2% of the worlds population vanished and people still look at others like they are weird. If someone says that they are "Holy Wayne" or seeing dead people, how can anyone think they are crazy? The world doesn't make sense anymore, why should anything else make sense now? Its like Kevins dad, They locked him up for burning down the library not talking to someone no one else sees. I think we will see the "dog killer" reappear and finally Kevin will realize he was seeing things long ago. I mean the last we saw of him was in Cairo, and it was left open ended.
one day someone really smart is going to explain all of this to me and i still wont care and still hate myself for watching. if Kevin is some sort of chosen one and is being 'protected' what does it have to do with the girls?
I think part of it is that Patti is a connection to the past, but another part is hearing that right after what she went through last week. She has realized that Jarden isn't all that and this new life isn't going to bring her the safety she craves. I guess it is also possible that she could feel responsible as a lens in some way?
Interesting theory. I am not subscribing to it, but I respect it as a well thought out possibility. Spoiler Virgil feared that the Miracle townsfolk no longer believed in miracles, and decided that he was going to change that.By himself, and armed with his handgun, Virgil kidnapped the three girls. So, why did Virgil kill himself after convincing Kevin to drink the poison? To protect Michael, Virgil’s grandson. Kevin somehow saw Michael and Virgil after the girls were kidnapped, probably when Michael and Virgil were going to ditch the girl’s car. Virgil got the drop on Kevin, knocked him out, tied him to a cinder block, then tossed him into the water. Virgil found out from Michael that Kevin sleep walks (recall that Jill told (a surprised?) Michael this fact in the church). Prior to this, Virgil probably was unsure why Kevin didn’t turn him in. Virgil then realized that Kevin doesn’t remember the incident, but COULD remember it. He lies to Kevin about Kevin throwing himself in the lake (and Kevin never thought to doubt that explanation), in order to convince Kevin that he should ‘kill’ himself by drinking the poison and to rid himself of Patti. Virgil also knew that the police found a palm print from the girls car, and he assumed it was his—not Kevin’s. Virgil figures it was just a matter of time before the police come for him. So, after getting rid of the only witness to the kidnapping crime (Kevin—other than the three girls who could identify Virgil as the perpetrator), Virgil shot himself. Recall that Michael looked unhappy to see Kevin when Kevin arrived at the trailer—he knew what was about to happen. Also, when Michael entered the trailer after the gunshot, he didn’t look surprised. He glanced at Virgil’s body, then drug Kevin out to points unknown. So where are the girls? Buried, underground, yet still alive. Just like the repeated story of the birds, they will be released, alive, and the incident will be thought of as a miracle. Michael will either ‘discover’ the girls, 'find' Virgil’s suicide note revealing the location of the girls, or phone in an anonymous tip to the police on the girls location. So, why did Michael agree to the plot? The writers have gone to great lengths to convince the viewers that Michael is very religious. He forgave his grandfather for his sins, volunteers in the local church, gives food to the poor, sells Miracle water in return for donations to the church, and who is so pious that he turns down sex with an attractive teenage girl because he’s not sure they are in love. But, more importantly, Michael’s father is going around town beating up charlatans and burning down the houses of those who contradict his, ‘there are no miracles in Miracle’, mantra. Michael believes in miracles, and he and Virgil, are going to show the town that miracles do exist. I also like this plot because it doesn’t rely on any supernatural occurrences or mysteries—just two religious wackos who execute a plot to kidnap three teenage girls due to their religious beliefs. It is completely opposite what you’d expect from a show about supernatural occurrences.
If that plot is true then what about the earthquake that drained all the water and saved Kevin's life? Are we supposed to just believe that fracking caused an earthquake so large that it drained a natural body of water right at the very second that all of that took place?
Or that Micheal was in his room when the earthquake happened. I don't recall seeing Virgil with a car.
Didn't Virgil say he could help Kevin with his situation at the visitors center before the girls disappeared? Interesting theory, but no chance at being true.
yeah the bird and him helping him is what all signs point to. sorry just got caught up, fuck me I sat here for like 5 minutes then had to come here immediately and read what others had already deduced before I freaked out
Really hope Virgil wasn't just fucking with Kevin. I want Kevin to be able to do battle with Patti and vanquish her and then come back. Not sure if he should welcome Nora back, though. She lost tons of cool points during this episode.
I just have this feeling it won't be a battle like we think. I can see it being a Patti centric episode and Kevin helping Patti some how.
One of the things that had been bugging me about Patti was all the personal stuff she was revealing about her marriage. I had been thinking Kevin could only know that if Laurie told him back when she was Patti's therapist. So I was glad to get that confirmation from Laurie. That was a great scene btw, how fucked up is this world where the only person Kevin can reach out to for help is his crazy ex cult ex wife?
one thing we can count on is an episode going back to lori/tommy next week. i won't be upset about it, but damn if we don't want to find out what the hell happened to kevin ASAP.
thought it was interesting how Lori didn't believe what Tommy was doing was real in any way but yeah we haven't seen Tommy in a while so I expect that next episode as well
Anyone catch the description of this weeks episode? "Kevin hopes to conquer Patti once and for all, in an unusual arena, but any resolution could come at great personal cost." Looks like they're not making us wait a week afterall. Yay.
Yeaaaah. I wanted to like it, but wtf was that shit? Seemed to be weird just for the sake of being weird.
Definitely a shark jumper when looked at as its own episode, but really anything that went spiritual was going to be, IMO. That said, I think we learned a lot of important things. It was very Lostovers.
The were four outfits in the closet...a priest, a cop, an international spy, and a guilty remnant. I think each represented an aspect of his personality. This coincides with him being told know first who you are and then adorn yourself accordingly. Also he passed the lie detector test about why he smokes, which shows he does identify with the guilty remnant. Fake Patti said that is why he wants to kill her... because he identifies with her. As far as the other choices, we saw all three iterations on other characters during the episode. Why he chose international assassin is beyond me as I don't recall that side of him being presented anywhere on the show. Saw a theory that maybe that his sleepwalking personality. Makes sense when you consider he took Patti hostage under that type of circumstance.
