There is a group of s that get together twice a year to do some pretty crazy things in video games and raise money for some awesome causes. Right now their winter event is going on and raising money for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. They have raised over $5 million in their 6 year history, most of which has come over the last couple of years as the event has gained more notoriety. It will run through Saturday night (1/9). That night will be highlighted by some speed runners facing off against TASbot, a program designed specifically to speed run games. These are some of my favorite highlights over the last few years, just to give you an idea of the things they are doing: Mike Tyson's Punch-Out blindfolded: Mario 64 All 120 stars speed run: Super Metroid 4-way race: Ocarina of Time blindfolded: You can check it out live here: https://gamesdonequick.com/ or on Twitch @GamesDoneQuick. Here is the link to this week's schedule: https://gamesdonequick.com/schedule And yes, it is SUPER nerdy, but it's all for a really good cause. So maybe check it out and drop a coupla bones their way
yup. watch mario 64 speed runs all the time. figured I would give some of the tricks a shot. Couldn't come close on any except the easiest one after a couple hours of trying and gave up
which trick was it. i finally managed to jump up the never ending stairs backwards, and in the slide, i can get around 12.9 seconds or so
Tried Lekku skip. could't do it Tried the bomb toss skip, couldn't do it. tried cannonless, LOL only one i could do was the simple triple jump in whomps fortress to get to the top of level quickly and the triple jump to get the star on the far left of the map
Bump for the summer event currently going on. Some things I'm interested in: Bioshock speed run tonight, a Bethesda block Thursday night, Super Mario Maker team race Friday night (the levels were created specifically for this event and was a really cool watch in January), and on Saturday the TASBot -> FFVI -> Super Metroid afternoon. All info in the OP regarding schedule and live streaming is the same for this event.
