Slowly? Nah that shit is unfolding in record breaking pace. The best thing for Ferrari right now is that that Mercedes and Red Bull have once in a lifetime talents as it’s #1s or Charles would be on the first thing out of Ferrari.
I'm thinking: Mick, Alex, Yuki, and Jhou stay where they are Piastri to Alpine Sargeant replaces Latifi
Weekly reminder that Max hasn't finished off the podium in a race without a mechanical issue or crash since France in June 2019 - 47 straight races
I wonder what his bonus is per win/podium? My understanding is they all have a similar structure to that of a head coach. He’s gotta be making astronomical money right now.
https://www.spotrac.com/formula1/oracle-red-bull-racing/max-verstappen-47373/cash-earnings/ RB Salary of 25m but earned 42m in total.... Guessing some of that is drivers title bonus and maybe race bonus stuff... idk this article has different figures... also states he gets 5m per drivers title.. https://www.totalsportal.com/f1/max-verstappen-salary/
Not sure what to expect there. The aston Martin seems way further away than the Alpine is from competing for race wins. But I guess Alpine wasn’t going to give him more than one year. think it’s possible Danny ric goes back to Alpine. He finished 5th in driver standings his last year w Renault. some how he controls whether he’s at mclaren or not but maybe 2 year deal from alpine makes more sense.
Think Daniel is on stupid money at mclaren and he can’t really walk away from that even though I’m sure the team wishes he would
is it true that her final hiring test was to say at least 20 unique racial slurs in under 30 seconds? i read somewhere that RBR does that for potential new hires
He was pretty critical of Checo when he and Russell made contact a few weeks ago. Apparently checo was told not to try and overtake in that corner and he immediately went out and did that.
He thought Alpine was basically making him a seat warmer for Piastri. And wanted a longer deal. I don't blame him for getting a longer contract. He hasn't really seemed happy even tho they have a better car than AM.
There are reports that Piastri agreed to drive at Mclaren in 2023 on loan from Alpine. Alpine now saying he is under contract and must drive for them now that there is a set available. https://www.planetf1.com/news/alpine-mclaren-oscar-piastri-dispute/
Why does he need to answer a call from Alpine? lol... gtfo Live your best life Alonso... love that dude.
McLaren is/was clearly trying to push Daniel out of his seat. Look at the quotes and pressure they put on. But Daniel told them to fuck off and shared that he still had another year on his deal. McLaren quickly stopped trashing but spun it as "well its up to Daniel if he wants to still keep racing" trying to imply he might retire. Daniel fired back on social media saying no chance to that. My guess is Daniel is going to stick at McLaren and get his money. Oscar will go to Alpine because he doesn't have a seat at McLaren and it's clear McLaren doesn't want to eat Danny's contract. I don't see Danny or Alpine reuniting nor do I see Williams giving Danny a big money deal. So yeah...
Cyril claiming the Renault engine/car was going to be fighting for world titles and then being no better than 5th on the grid was what cost him his job.
I don't see it... But who knows shit in F1 is fluid. I just think the way he left Alpine and the money he might still command vs his performance... Alpine has what they feel is the next Norris/Charles/Russell why in the hell would they allow him to start his career at a rival if they have an open seat.
Im Sure they wanted Alonso one more year and let Piastri cut his teeth and learn somewhere else then bring him in with a year under his belt instead of throwing him straight into the one of the top mid tier teams. They'd get more money on the constructors next year with Alonso.
Yeah Daniel makes like 40m a year between his mclaren deal and endorsements. There is no way he will retire
Yeah I don't see how he could walk away from that. His only hope is to get some real results in 2023 so another team would throw money at him for one last stint.
