Considering Iggy pretty much single handedly cost us two games, subbing Jones in for him may actually be exactly what it is
Jamar Taylor in coverage for the 9ers just now and I weirded me out to hear his name. Had no idea he was still around. Kinda surprising actually
I know this is confirmation bias, but when was the last time the fins got a free 15 yards on a call that fucking soft.
It’s been a complete game, but this isn’t a very good opponent. That defense is crippled by injuries.
Can anyone explain what to do with this newfound feeling I have? I think it’s hope but it’s been so long since I’ve experienced it with this franchise.
That sucks but hopefully that gives Raekwon an opportunity to shine. That's probably a wrap on his Dolphins stint though. Doubt we will try re-sign him.
What are everyone’s thoughts on RB short and long term? Breida and Howard have had much smaller roles than I expected. Gaskin has been a nice surprise, but can he really be the guy for the future? As has been discussed on here, wouldn’t be shocked if one of the second round picks is used on an RB next year.
Etienne or Harris are the big two but if we miss out on him and grab a guy like Journey Brown I think that would be a nice add.
This team has a ton of holes, but when you have 4 picks in the first two rounds, use one of them on a premiere RB. I know their shelf life isn’t great, but having an elite RB makes life so much easier on an offense.
Think you need to go RB, OL, edge rusher, BPA in no particular order with the 4 picks in first 2 rounds
Hopefully one of them is there for our first second or maybe trade up a few slots in the second to grab one. But I can easily see a situation where one goes first round and the other near the top of round 2. In that case I don't think the dropoff to the Hubbard's and Brown's of the draft is THAT steep.
Certainly all needs but if we are sitting there with a good WR or LB on the board in round 1 that's gonna be hard to pass as well. Preston Williams and DVP are too similar to be comfortable with those as your only two WRs that are threats. Right now I'd say our biggest need is edge rusher just on position importance basis. But after that we can use almost anyone good at almost any position. The team has a lack of high end talent and I'll take it wherever we can get it. We have some solid players and precious few difference makers.
Yeah that's a grand slam of a first round IMO. Potential high end players at two positions that have been black holes for us for years.
I’d say needs for offense are Finishing up OL Number 3 WR Definitive number 1 RB Defense is probably a little shakier, but definitely need a pass rusher and LB help among other things, possibly safety?
Good OL Coach>>> draft pedigree. Fins seem to finally have a decent OL coach. I'm fine using later picks on OL unless there is a can't miss guy around in the 1st. they definitely need a better speed/slot WR. Preston Williams is progressing nicely and Parker is playing well, but they need their version of Tyreek Hill/Brandin Cooks, etc who can take the top off the defense at any moment. agree 100% see, here is where I disagree with you. I feel like the defense needs the most help. Up until this past game, the pass rush was non-existent. They desperately need 2 new DE's that can get to the QB. The Linebacker position is a dying breed, but they could use a guy there, and they absolutely need an impact safety. Having an eraser in Center field who can both cover and tackle is huge. Helps prevent the big play over the top and limits those runs that get into the second level to 10 yard gains instead of 50 yd TDs. The dream scenario is that the Houston picks ends up top 2 and the fins can trade it for a haul to a team wanting a QB. Get an elite pass rusher in the top 5 and then best skill player available with that 2nd first which will likely be in that 8-13 range.
I've been very impressed with Gaskin and Brieda combo, especially Gaskin. I'd rather let the season play out and see what we have with Gaskin, who I think is legit, than sign Bell. I don't want to pay a washed up old back and let's let the guys who have earned it show what they can do. Still fine for bringing in a bigger back in the draft though, that's the piece we're missing.... but Bell seems like he's been a problem everywhere he's been and I don't think we need that with what we've got going on for a middling player at best.
