This is who I think
Golden Boot: David Villa
Golden Ball: Wesley Sneijder
Yashin Award (Best Goalkeeper): Neuer?????
Best Young Player: Thomas Mueller

Best GK: Julio Cesar (even though he fucked up vs Netherlands, Casillas has had some glaring fuckups as well)
Best Young Player: Luis Suarez

No way in hell that Julio Cesar wins best GK. The only gk that went out in the quarters that has a chance is the ghanese keeper. not sure who wins it

No way in hell that suarez gets it. it would be like complimenting him for his (smart decision) handball against ghana, they will never do that

 

Yeah, he had his handball, but he was pretty electric outside of that, even in today's game. Obviously Muller is going to win it, but I was just throwing some other shit out there.

IIRC, the best young player is for a player 20 y/o and younger, the last two winners being Messi and Landon Donovan.

 

I actually had that as a side comment as first but thought it would be insane cuz he wasnt good either. If stekelenburg didnt have that 1 shocker against uruguay he would have had a great shot iyam

I'm not sure how they decide it now, as I found an article on the three finalists and Gio Dos Santos is one and he's 21 y/o, regardless Mueller is a lock.

I agree with this except I would give the goalkeeper award to the Dutch kid. Other then that its spot on.

 

i think its cuz europe is weird and for these age restrictions just counts the year, not the day you were born

like there are more than a few 22 year olds that play in the u21 euro championships because of this

 

The Best Young Player award is awarded to the best young player who was under 21 on Jan. 1 of the year. So any player born on or after Jan 1 1989.

 

No way Ozil or anyone gets best young player over Mueller
