I honestly don’t know what to expect from Seider next season. Hedman played 20 minutes a night as a 19 year old rookie. Seider will be 20, but will have two years of experience playing against men under his belt. I think 20 minutes a night should be a good baseline for him.
Jonatan Berggren with 44 points in 48 games. Good for 6th in the SHL. His 32 assists are 2nd best as well. No prospects with a better offensive season in the league.
It never really occured to me that Jack Drury would be related to Chris Drury, but of course he's Chris's nephew. I remember Drury leading the Trumbull, CT to the Little League World Series before playing on those late-rivalry Avalanche teams.
Ted (Jack’s dad) played for a while too. Definitely a hockey family, so Jack being good doesn’t surprise me at all.
Need to extract as much value as possible this deadline. We are set at the wing for the future with Zadina, Mantha, Bertuzzi, Raymond, Berggren, Svechnikov. Seider and Hronek makes our top 4 at RD solid. Albert Johansson or Cholo can probably be our 2LD. Veleno should be able to be our 3C. 1C, 1LD, and 1G and we are set. We can get one of those in this draft but we need more assets to get the others.
2021-2022 Bertuzzi - Larkin - Mantha FA - Fabbri - Zadina Raymond - Namestikov - Berggren Rasmussen - Glendening - Smith Extras: Frans Nielsen & Albin Grewe DDK - Hronek Cholowski - Seider Djoos - Stecher Extras: Gustav Lindstrom & Jon Merrill Let Veleno get one more year of development in the AHL, give him a few call ups.
2022-2023 Bertuzzi - Larkin - Mantha Raymond - FA - Zadina Rasmussen - Veleno - Berggren Grewe - ??? - Smith Cholowski - Seider DDK - Hronek Albert Johansson - Gustav Lindstrom Obvious x-factors are the Seattle expansion draft, trades, FA, and who we pick the next two years.
The Flyers waived Shayne Gostisbehere. He hasn’t been a stud offensive D for a few years, but he only has two years left at 4.5 mil. He is basically what we want Cholowski to be and he’s only 27. I would claim him for sure, but I’m not sure that happens.
I’m good with it. We have the cap space and if he turns it around we can get some value from him next deadline or resign him.
His salary is only 3.5 mil in real dollars each of the next two seasons, with 2.5 each year being signing bonuses paid out before the season. Makes it even easier to deal him.
Philly is such a mess right now, and it seems like Ghost has been their scape goat the last few years. Seems like it’s just time for this marriage to end.
I assume Smith is replacing him as people get healthy. It’s become obvious Yzerman is completely indifferent to Svech.
I've liked him in the games he's played this year. Yzerman must not care, or know that no one will claim him.
I had forgotten we drafted Drapers kid...he has 4 pts in 31 games in the ushl. Which makes him the 23rd highest scorer...on his own team And its not like in Europe where he is playing in a low scoring league with men. There is an 18 year old on his team with 51 pts in 32 games
Yeah I don’t understand wasting a pick for some good old fashioned nepotism. We’ve turned numerous 7th round picks into NHLers, the pick still has value, and we threw it away.
Svechnikov cleared waivers. I like the guy, and he’s gotten a raw deal, but he’s cleared waivers twice now, so I think it’s time we all come to terms with the fact that the league doesn’t think of him as an NHL regular.
Hopefully we can trade some forwards so Svech can get an extended run rest of season. Want him, Smith and Ras in every game going forward. Also wouldn't mind another look from Hirose When is Bert coming back?
You’re not gonna get anything for taxi-squad flip at his age. Wouldn’t mind trading Helm back home to Winnipeg.
Tampa doesn't want this smoke in round one. Better hope we don't get hot down the stretch. Spoiler Unless we've already been eliminated from playoff contention, which is possible
I wouldn’t be shocked if he’s kept around. Yzerman traded a four to get him and with the bottom six guys coming off the books this offseason, it makes sense to keep Erne.
Erne isn't in the dump at all costs category but he has 8 goals his last 20 games. I think he's a solid bottom 4 guy but wonder if we could sell him high now. If the offers aren't there I wouldn't mind holding onto him
SHL playoffs begin Sunday. Seider’s team is taking on Frolunda (Raymond, Neiderbach and Soderblom). Berggren and Johansson are still alive as well.
