Haven't played any God of War games, if I just pick this up will I be lost or should I just have at it?
I played the first and don’t remember it and probably didn’t finish it. Have at it man. It feels like a brand new IP imo
yeah I havent played any of the other GoW's but i watched the youtube video summing up the story so far and I've really enjoyed this game. Despite its difficulty.
Me upon finding my first realm tear thing at the lake of nines hit O oh there's two guys coming out cool *dead*
I was watching a 20min recap of the previous games on the TV and my wife goes "this story makes no sense he dies like 7 times"
You should pick them up simply because they’re awesome. God of War 2 and 3 are especially amazing boss fight games.
Completed the main story. Great game and difficult in some areas. Still think The Last of Us was a better game as a whole, but really enjoyed it. Redboxed it so I won’t do any side quests.
I don’t think I could make this call w/o doing side quests. This game is a lot like Zelda where as exploration and discovery really is tremendously meaty part of the experience. I’m not arguing the opinion, I just think you have an incomplete evaluation
Found my first one. One guy swings a large hammer at me and I’m one hit quit before he’s even all the way out.
After 2 hours, finally completed a realm tear on GOW difficulty, this shit isn't even fun lol, its just patience testing. Literally spent 40 mins dodging and spamming runic attacks to whittle these lvl 483028402 Dragurs down.
Just got here. The puzzles seem a bit trickier. Does anyone know if it is possible to find all four rune ciphers while still in midgard? I think I found three before going to Alfheim. I'm trying to avoid using a guide but I'm missing like 20-25% of stuff.
does fast travel unlock later in the game? i made it to the lake of nine, but i want to go back to the beginning and search for the artifacts and stuff i missed.
I really enjoy how the world opens up and allows for more exploration this is really well done open world game. I've probably spent about 20 hours just exploring and side quests. Spoiler I'm about to go after the chisel in the main quest after I do all the side quests available.
Okay the realm tear where you fight 2 purple revenants is basically fucking impossible on GoW difficulty
Just beat it. Deserves all the praise and I’ll continue playing until it’s platinum because it’s still every bit as fun as it was when I fired it up.
Okay i beat it, but basically had to play like a fucking pussy for 40 mins to do it. Aka hid in a corner holding block while my son literally did all the work with arrows and wolf summon.
Is attempting to win the realm tears early on worth it? I just lost initially to the revenants. I'm almost level 4. Is the drop from them worth the time or just come back later?
Yes worth but it is also extremely difficult to win them so I just recommend doing side quests and exploring instead.
Spoiler Admittedly I’m not well versed on Norse Mythology so after beating the game I did some research of my own and I have to say that it is quite impressive how SMS put their own spin on certain tales while remaining cleverly close to the source material. The ending really is great but it becomes a lot more enjoyable with context. The cool thing about it is that even w/o context it’s still really fucking cool. Well crafted story/adventure plus an all time fun experience. Of all the things I can fawn over about this game from the characters, world, story, exploration etc the combat imo is the star of the show. Tactical but fun and retains the brutal and visceral feel that I think the series is known for. It legit never gets old. 999/10 top 5 all time Idk if this really needs a spoiler but I’ll oblige anyway
Get to Stone Falls, grab the golden talisman of protection, do some realm tears to get dust and upgrade the talisman to lvl 5 and you won't have to worry about your talisman slot for the rest of the game.
I wish I had the free time that some of you do. I'm back in Midgard going up the mountain and found some stag/human statue.
