Really excited to go to JamNOLA when all this is over. I’ve been loving the pics they’ve shared from the inside.
It’s an art funhouse like MeowWolf! Hate that they had to wait so long to open, but glad they’re finally getting some money. I’m a big fan of the Bling Bayou room already. https://jamnola.com/
Just bumping to plug for the good dude Mason Hereford. I finally got to hit up the Mama Tried pop up at Turkey and the Wolf last week. Wings were killer and the margs are strong and will treat you right as expected.
Never really understood how fun parades were until I lived in New Orleans. This is obviously the right decision though
Went right after it opened, didn't like it - nothing at our table was very good. It's right next to where we stay when we're in nola and we haven't had any desire to go back. If you do go, and like it let me know and I'll give it another try. If we're just walking somewhere close it's hard to not go to Peche, or Meril. Do you remember what y'all got? I feel like I should give it another shot at some point I guess.
Just came in a plate of debris fries at mahonys. Also had the chicken liver po boy but it was kinda meh
Anyone have a preferred hotel they stay in for their NOLA trips? Gonna book a trip for the Saints - Bucs game once the NFL schedule comes out this week. Was leaning towards Bienville House, but am open to other suggestions.
Haha I’m old. The wife wanted to see fireworks and be able to not be crushed by the crowd. Think we are just going to wonder Frenchman street or Freret street now.
have 3 days in NoLa coming up in January...looking for random shit to do that may not come up right away when Googling
Gris Gris is great. I was in town and insisted on x-mas eve dinner there. The whole fish is just awesome.
On the verge of blackout after the SECCG, I booked a (nonrefundable) hotel room at the Royal Sonesta (on Bourbon Street) for tonight through Monday. I am dreading having to step foot onto Bourbon on NYE
Going as expected. Got yelled at last night around 1am for wearing a mask. Having a balcony on Conti ~20 yards from Bourbon is definitely an interesting experience, though. Erin Rose starter/night caps ftw.
For the most part. Used to live in NOLA so I imagine we’ll end up visiting friends Uptown plus I really want to grab a Yakiniku from the Ajun Cajun. Reservations at Luke tomorrow to eat and drink before the game, so probably won’t venture too far this trip.
I love ramen. Went to the Royal Sushi & Bar. Damn this spicy tonkotsu is clearing this hangover. So good.
#LSU Tigers Wife wants to head back to Nola for a post-baby trip and figure I’d parlay it into an LSU home game to see our ex-Head Coach. Thinking either the Ole Miss or Bama game next year. Planning on getting into town on Wednesday and stay through Sunday. What’s the best round trip transportation option from Nola to Tiger Stadium for a game? Also, what’s the best option for tailgating for someone that doesn’t want to set up their own? Lastly, safe to assume both of those games will be at night?
Think I'm going to try to get tickets for the LSU-FSU game for the wife. I've been trying to get her to go to NOLA since we got together 13 yrs ago. Thinking this is gonna be the avenue.
