Everybody wants to be a bodybuilder but nobody want to lift no heavy ass weight Spoiler first of the big three repping above bodyweight. I’m coming for you guys
He's such a freak but wish my arms would go down that far, think I have to pull further doing hex deadlifts than he does with my short ass arms.
Same. I don't squat, bench or deadlift anymore just because I'm old, injuries and not really what I'm going for. I'm back up to 215lb range from low 170's range last October post bicep tear. I eat clean but I'm just gun shy (pun intended) on doing any type of cutting right now with it not even being a year since my injury. I still lift heavy, just geared more towards bodybuilding types of exercise. I didn't get injured doing any type of powerlifting exercise though and it was because of carb/caloric depletion. Like really really bad to a point that no one should do especially if they don't have a sedentary type of job. I knowingly went 2 weeks too long on my cut phase and thought I'd be ok. Twas not the case and pop goes the weasel
Had my first meet with some adversity. Opening bench they made me hold it for 15 seconds. Called a rerack and I had 15 seconds to get reset and take my opener. It smoked me. Missed my opener deadlift on downward motion. Retook it then took a 25kg/55lb jump for my third 8/9 540/336/573
Shoulder is beat up again, but good otherwise. I have some RPE 10 sets next week followed by a deload week.
Legitimately 15 seconds. My legs and arms were shaking. I’m still not over it. I will be my next meet. Hopefully qualifying for Nats
I didn’t, but my state chair (she hit a 459 squat today btw) got in his ass about it. Head ref should have called a rerack after 3 seconds. The thing that bothers me is the judge who messed up coaches world level folks and has been around a while. Shit happens though. Bad calls are apart of sport. Learn to deal and move on
Wait, you had to hold a bench press in the air arms fully extended for 15 seconds before you could press? What? That’s so taxing.
I'm assuming it's the former (overhead), because I don't think a rerack would be an option if the lift had actually started.
He doesn't seem all that short either, how he packs that much muscle into 180 pounds. Fuck if I know.
bigjrock is correct. So I unracked and never heard a start command. After probably 14 of the 16 seconds the right judge starts saying “your feet are touching”. I shuffle my feet out then thenjduge finally calls a rerack. My legs and arms were shaking from staying tight. Luckily it was my opener, but had that been my third there would be 0 chance of getting it
Wasn’t ideal. Shit happens. Just because I didn’t go 350+ that day doesn’t mean I’m not strong enough. All baseline strength is up and that’s all that matters. Keep growing and building. It’ll show
Hahaha funny you say that. Do you happen to follow his account on IG? So Sunday I’m handling one of the girls from our gym and I’m wearing one of his shirts (y’all go support our boy and go grab one. They’re fire.) She goes to take her first squat and Geno (the USAPL announcer) yells over the microphone “Alison coached by Garage Gym Lab. Garage. Gym. Lab.”
Shirts are in hand! Just need to update the site after I get my last batch of shipments out. Will be ready tomorrow or Thursday. Appreciate you, brother. I’ll have tanks next spring/summer for sure.
I haven't done overhead in a long time. It was part of my program early on, but now I get widegrip, pause, and feet up as my bench accessories.
We’re doing a RTS style pivot so this week is all new exercises which will limit overall load. Next week we officially start the new block. In addition to yesterday’s OHP I had conventional. To which he said “oh yea those look bad”
boy, old charity witt is really cranking out the thirst shots. also, facing the dilemma of ig fitness models that i only followed because they were hot, getting pregnant and making it a part of their content. i respect their decision entirely, but it's also making me feel creepy.
Hanna Oberg is the most recent one. there were two others, but one of them has only been putting up older workout clips, she is showing in the new pics.
Anyone have recommendations for wireless over ear headphones that can handle sweat and what not. I’m not a fan of earbuds
Trying to figure out my goals. I want to cut for 12 weeks leading up to my vacation in March. So essentially 2nd week of December - March. I have a bunch of chunk I need removed still from my 6 month recovery/fat fucking myself. I basically have 30 weeks. Trying to figure how to cut this up. 6 week minicut? More? Then bulk? Maintenance for 8ish? 12 week shred to vacation.
