Is psuedoprogression purely an I/O issue or have we overlooked it with TKIs and other approaches? Hoss Bonaventure
https://edition.cnn.com/2022/06/11/health/moderna-young-kids-fda/index.html Moderna for kids results seem okay. Should probably get the lead out since South Africa apparently is having a jump in hospitalizations of kids under 9, though they note it resolves well enough in those kids https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...es-jump-in-south-africa-discovery-health-says Good time for summer vacation to start
haven't been following thread so siap Children Are Getting Infected With Three Viruses At The Same Time By Jason Hall June 14, 2022 COVID-19 protocols. Thomas Murray, an infection-control expert and associate professor of pediatrics at Yale University, told the Washington Post that his team has treated children battling seven common viruses -- adenovirus, rhinovirus, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), human metapneumovirus, influenza and parainfluenza, along with COVID-19, with some dealing with as many as 2-3 viruses at a time. "That's not typical for any time of year and certainly not typical in May and June," Murray said. CDC data obtained by Daily Mail showed influenza levels among young children were at lower levels before an abnormal surge began recently in the early summer months, which typically serves as a dead period for respiratory infections. Additionally, the rhinovirus, or common cold, usually isn't severe enough to lead to hospitalizations, but has in recent cases and, like influenza, has failed to taper off with warmer weather this year. Researchers also believe the Yamagata strain of flu -- which hasn't been present since earl 2020 -- could possibly make a return amid the sudden increase in various common viruses. "It's a massive natural experiment," said Michael Mina, an epidemiologist and chief science officer for eMed, via the Washington Post, adding that the increase is likely due to the American population's lack of exposure to previously common viruses during the past two years. "When you have a lot of people who don't have immunity, the impact of the season is less. It's like free rein." You can read more on the sudden increase in the viruses here.
Think I had what would be considered minor Covid symptoms and it sucked. I’m happy tonight to just be blowing my nose and sneezing constantly after a few days of barely getting out of bed with a headache that wouldn’t go away I always get sick when I go to Florida
Do we have an accurate count on numbers? I feel like everyone I know has had covid in the past 3 weeks.
https://www.cnbc.com/2022/06/15/cov...uthorization-after-committee-backs-shots.html The FDA’s committee of independent vaccine experts voted unanimously to recommend Moderna’s shots for use in infants through toddlers. The committee will soon vote on Pfizer’s vaccine for infants through toddlers as well. The FDA will likely accept the recommendation and authorize the shots this week. The CDC will likely give health-care providers the green light to start administering the shots shortly after FDA authorization. The White House has said vaccinations could begin as soon as Tuesday.
We got an alert from our dr and our hospital for our 2 yr old. Not sure whether to go with the 3 shot Pfizer or 2 shot Moderna.
Only thing I can think is that some states arranged for other supplies outside of the government (Maryland, for example). No clue if that applies to vaccines. It's quite clear that every other state got the message, though. Being the one to fuck it up is unforgivable.
The article I linked read as if pfizer could be right behind. If true, we'll wait and see what our pediatrician recommends.
Maybe your dr. is operating under that assumption, but at least the linked article and bullets indicate that only moderna has passed committee as of this moment
Statistically, those babies will probably grow up to be Dem voters, especially right out of the gate. Sure would be a shame if all of the FL ones died so DeSantis and his buddies would have to keep winning elections with the olds bloc in perpetuity.
Fine, the buildup of mucus is giving me some awful coughs in middle of night but that’s it. Killing my throat On my 7th day of positive tests, seems rather long these days but don’t really know what’s normal.
11 month old popped today If I'm reading it right, is the current guidance 10 days of quarantine from symptom onset since she is too young for masks?
My dad just called me to try and convince me not to get my son vaccinated, when I told him we’d probably just do whatever our pediatrician said he lost his shit
jfc, I can't keep some of the posters' insane families straight, I'm guessing he's been a huge piece of anti-vaxx shit since they came out?
at first they were only get Johnson and Johnson (which they didn’t) and then they went full anti-vax they’re currently all sick with covid right now
I've got a strained relationship with my dad, if he called me and told me to not get my daughter vaccinated I'd probably, at this point at least, tell him to never call me again.
Does anyone know how quarantine works with one positive and one negative kid (both under 5)? Is it 10 days for both, or 10 days for the positive one and 5 days for the negative with a morning rapid test on days 6-10? If the latter, does the 5 day clock start from the positive kid's first symptom, or the first day of being symptom free?
This is what my dad just send me https://www.bizpacreview.com/2022/0...-down-in-tense-congressional-rematch-1251099/
I’m not even sure what the negative outcome of the vaccination is supposed to be, that video seems to just be Paul arguing semantics and saying there’s no benefit for 18-49’s and that’s why the data is not released Looks like we used Israeli data to make the rec for that age group
That article from IV’s dumbass dad really underscores the diction gap between sane and insane people.
So maybe I dont know how this works...but this seems like he didn't do jack ass shit. The providers need to order from the federal program - not the state. In what world would a provider be barred from ordering from the federal program directly? Fuck him and fuck and reporting that gives him credit for anything. (unless im mistaken but thats how I interpreted it. If I interpreted it wrong I still stand by "fuck him")
I believe this stunt only applied to state run programs, so it did not affect most doctors/walgreens/cvs/etc he just wanted the anti-vax crowd to love him more
Right they are basically saying what im saying. Desantis didn't do shit. They left providers on their own with no help from the state. Hell the Dept of Health should have run with the headline that actually sounded like Fat Ron did anything.
