There will be some fresh group stage clubs this year since Slavia Prague, Olympiakos, Red Star Belgrade and Midtjylland all went out tonight. Rangers also doing their best Celtic impression.
I did the classic post before double checking and Slavia Prague and Red Star were actually not in the group stage last season but my general point remains.
Super cup match day. Villarreal had a player sent off against marseille and that horrific tackle on fofana in their last 2 friendlies so this game will probably be very chippy. No idea how ready chelsea is but I expect at least 4 normal starters to be on the bench at the start.
I will choose this thread to bitch about men’s soccer, club and international, allowing players to swarm refs constantly. It bogs the game down and is annoying as hell. Watching the women’s teams during the Olympics generally once a call is made, even a PK, play resumes very quickly. It was so refreshing.
Rapid Wien-Anorthosis Famagusta UEL second leg on Paramount+ if you need a fix. Rapid up 3-0 on aggregate coming in though.

Same with Shakhtar and Monaco. Though if it gives new clubs the opportunity to be in, that will be cool
They’re the only four clubs left in the League path; the rest are in the Champions path. I agree that you’d rather all of them advance but it is the “champions” league after all so I suppose it’s fair.
Can someone explain to me the conference league process a bit more? Is this playoff round a 1 match playoff before the group stage draw? Winners advance to the group pool?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UEFA_Europa_Conference_League There's a breakdown in there. Appears that it's structured similarly to CL with 3 qualifying and 1 playoff round.

Shakhtar scored to level the tie but more importantly are subbing in some 20 year old Ukrainian with an “Only Jesus” neck tattoo
Just wondering, but what happens if an English team gets drawn against a team listed as a red country? Is the whole team and staff going to have to quarantine? Right now, I only see Turkey listed, out of the possibilities, but of course that could change
