Think this news deserves it's own space. They went all in the last two years trying to bounce back up, now they're in some trouble unless someone comes to the rescue.
Would be a shame to see a club like that go into administration. Heard they probably need 75 million to get through next year. Seems like they were really banking on getting promoted.
When you’ve got a bunch of aging players on Premier League-wages 2 years after being relegated and already borrowed against your final parachute payment to afford their wages, you’re gonna have a bad time. The gamble they took this year was brazenly stupid and they got outworked by a significantly younger side when it mattered most. But golly, they won that “cup final” against Wolves back in March and that’s what truly matters.
I’d be happy to help set up their esports academy and put in lowball wage sheets for tne, john fairfax, Popovio, RoyalShocker, Mr. Bananagrabber, nexus, Druce, TheSkeeter, TheWampa, broXcore, Ned Yocho. Apologies if I’ve missed a few but that just means I’ll offer even less for your services. We got here because wages were out of control in the first place.
13 months ago villa couldn’t make a £4m tax payment and now we are back in the premier league and gong to spend €150m in one transfer window What a time to be alive Up the fucking villa
At this point I will be pretty disappointed if villa doesn’t sign Benrahma from Brentford and another forward They only have three wingers on the roster right now after letting Andre green go on loan to PNE and no one has a clue what Wesley will do. Kodjia could probavly do ok for a handful of games but if we have to rely on Keinan Davis that’s not good
ViLlA aRe DoInG a FuLhAm Only 3 outfield changes from team that was promoted Sucks for spurs that their fans are so desperate for a trophy and are going to lose first game to new promoted side in new stadium
Andy Reocho please change the thread title to Gallant’s Aston Villa Thread feat Arsenal Relegation thank you
Indeed Mikel. If I were you I would spent most of the festive period looking at beach houses to purchase with that sweet sweet arsenal buyout money. It’s not quite Gus Malzahn level money, but £12.5m ($16.8m) left on your deal is still pretty sweet. Burnley’s next three matches are @Leeds, Sheffield United, Fulham, so they’ll certainly be above Arsenal in the table when both teams reach the end of the first week of the new year. If Arsenal doesn’t win the 6 pointer in Brighton they’ll be 17th in the league headed to the Hawthornes for Big Sam’s fourth match in charge. He has never been relegated in his career. Can’t wait
When Arsenal loses their next three matches they’ll be on pace for 31 points in the league which would put them in 19th in the 2019-2020 premier league table. Their new manager will need to average around 1.9 points per match over the last 21 matches to get them to the 40 points that generally secure premier league survival
They’ll need to have similar form to current Leicester City/Everton and better than Spurs to stay up and finish 17th.
Villa really need a result this morning. Their next four matches are against teams 3-6 in the current table If Fulham can pick up a point at Southampton arsenal is within 3 points of 18th Big 9am kickoffs for this thread
No changes for the villa side who won 3-0 vs palace despite being a man down would love to see Watkins get a goal today
