36 pitches, all but guarantees we see fucking Moylan today. Not that Shitker wouldn't have used him regardless, but God damnit.
philly down 2-0 if we can get to the break within 2.5, i am feeling very good. just need a chance to reset and get right
why the fuck is chip going on about how no one can bunt for a bit against greinke when newk is trying to sac bunt
Greinke's a shit matchup for our lineup. Dude's nails. We really need to just get to the break and re-group.
There’s not a good matchup for our offense right now. I top out at 72 these days and could probably spin a QS against us.
also milwaukee (2 up on us for the first wild card) is losing rn to the pirates after losing game 1. hopefully we pull a miracle out here but enjoying the other scores around the league so far
We would be out of the playoffs if the season ended today because Diamondbacks would be ahead and Brewers also. Dodgers lead the West now and Cubs lead Central. It doesn't matter because it's July 14th but just showing how far south this thing has gone for us the last few weeks. We just fuckin suck out loud and I've never been so happy to see the AS break in my life come tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the Phillies apparently smell blood and upped their offer for Machado. They now potentially lead the sweepstakes.
The Rangers also cut Austin Jackson. Maybe see if he'd like to try to get right in AAA and put Ender on notice we're not messing around. Basically what we did with Joey Bats, except only promote him if he actually proves he can still play...
yeah but if we win tomorrow we’d be right back in it frustrating stretch but marlins hold on today and we win tomorrow to head into the break 1.5 back and .5 up. i will take that
I know man and I realize I'm being super negative right now but this team isn't doing a lot to excite. It's tough to watch. We could be completely different next Fri in Washington but we'll probably have to face Scherzer out the gate so that won't be easy. We're just making everything so hard on ourselves when the damn division or a WC is right there for the taking.
Our bench is comprised of Santana, Tucker and Flaherty. Like guys, that’s not a playoff team. It’s not even close.
You left out Chuck who is actually good. It needs improvement but the Phillies, Brewers, and others aren't better really
There’s tons of room for improvement there. You could argue Santana, Tucker, Flaherty and Moylan aren’t major leaguers. I doubt most playoff teams have 16% of their MLB active roster occupied by AAAA types.
Ok. I know it needs improvement. I'm just saying the bench batters in Philly and Milwaukee for example (two playoff teams) are arguably worse than ours unless you exclude Chuck
Offense is just completely lifeless of late. No power, and the stringing together of hits has been few and far between. Idk what it is, but this is painful to watch. Allowing 2 runs last night and 3 today should result in W's.
Nobody has a worse foursome of players than Flaherty, Santana, Freeman and Moylan. There's no possible way.
Yes, they are. Feel free to check it out philly currently has two of their bench bats hitting worse than Santana
Nah I don’t care enough to split hairs with you over the dumbest shit. Our bench is really bad and not gonna cut it for a playoff team. Simple as that.
Who gives a shit. It's not good enough and they don't belong on this team if we give a shit about doing anything meaningful this year besides boast about sellout crowds at STP on a weekend in July. This team is lifeless.
Right, it needs improvement. I'm just saying there are currently two other nl playoff teams with worse benches. This thread has a terrible propensity to go full hyperbole
