this stuff changes all the time. would be shocking if they didn't have it worked out with both of those by baseball season. hell even basketball season.
I would guess the DH in the NL for 2021 gets negotiated here in the next 2 months. MLBPA has every incentive to fight for it.
Can’t remember if I posted this before, but did any of y’all watch The Vow on HBO? Have time to expand a little more... The Vow is about this cult called NXIVM, and to me it sounded like the cult kind of infiltrated the community where they were based, Clifton Park, NY -- which is, coincidentally, also where Ian Anderson is from. I'm not suggesting he's in the cult or anything, but I bet he was exposed to it at the very least, and he might have an interesting take on it.
Ugh, really feel like we would’ve beat TB. This FEELS like It could be the start of a run where we get a lot more chances, but it still stings because you just never know
Wonder if they think they can get him back cheaper in this upcoming market? I'd definitely like to keep him.
I can't imagine MM getting 3.5. He is still a high level closer. He's not going to get 20mm per year, but I'd imagine someone will still give him a single year deal for double digit millions
DoD being 38 and the three-out rule still being a thing makes me fine with not picking it up now. I think you can get him back if you want down the road.
Don't hate bringing in Wainwright. Would be nice to have a guy like that around. On the broadcast Smoltz acted like he's never met Ian Anderson. Guy should be ashamed.
When thinking "Hey, we were 1 win away from beating the future world series champs. What pitcher would really get us over the hump?" Nobody thinks, Adam Wainwright. He's been injury prone and not great outside of this short season dating back to 2016 (4.58 cumulative ERA from 2016-2019). He doesn't move the needle at all. I hate it, but I don't think it's real. It's gotta be smoke in mirrors. When does the media every know about an AA trade before it happens?
Wainwright is the typical 5th starter we bring in for 3-5mm a year. Not awful, but he needs to be ready to move to a long relief role if needed
We desperately need a left handed hitting outfielder capable of (1) hitting the ball, and (2) hitting the ball out of the infield, and I don’t know who’s on the market who can do that.
