holy shit, good for you. It's a great popcorn "shut off your brain" escapist movie. My favorite thing about it is how the cast is essentially a bunch of then-unproven headliners and even more type-casted co-stars. For most of the movie they are all separated on their own little plot lines, but each plot thread is so well written, the stories are all so stupidly fun, and each plot line is so independently interesting, that when the climax of the film arrives and they all come together, you really feel like this is a superhero team up ready to save the world from the alien invasion. The movie is basically Marvel’s Phase One in miniature. It's a classic.
what the fuck Independence Day is the first movie I recall seeing multiple times at the theater. Absolute classic performance by Randy Quaid.
Yeah I really have no clue how I haven’t seen it. Been listening to The Rewatchables podcast and had to pass on this week’s episode about the film. I know the White House explodes and Will Smith says “welcome to earth.” That’s honestly all I really know.
Prey The man From Toronto Hustle & Flow (2005) The Black Phone In the Line of Fire (1993) Prisoners of the Ghostland
Can't remember any beyond these recent ones. The Conversation Taking of Pelham 123 (1974 version) The Raid
Prey is quite good for its genre. Tuned in for a dumb sci-fi action movie and was very pleasantly surprised.
Last movie I watched that I haven’t seen before was Prey the new Predator movie. Watched it because I’m a fan of the franchise, and it’s the only one I haven’t seen. It was just meh. Wouldn’t recommend it, but it’s free so at least not a waste of money.
Sahara How to lose a guy in ten days Lincoln lawyer Fools gold Failure to launch Rounders basically I’m just going through matthew m’s filmography after reading his book green lights.
Even allowing for a 10 week trip around the US, I've seen a few movies this year: Top Gun: Maverick Doctor Strange in the MoM The Northman Everything Everywhere All At Once The Lost City X Plan on seeing Love & Thunder tomorrow.
I watched Marathon Man recently. I’d recommend watching if you haven’t seen it. Dustin Hoffman is great in it. Was going to do a double feature with 3 Days of the Condor, but fell asleep because old guy.
The Night House - 8.5/10 Very effective horror. Some really great acting, especially in the first two acts, and some really clever visual moments. Overall plot left a lot unexplained, which isn't always a bad thing, but in this case it might've needed a hair more exposition in the end.
Vengeance Double Indemnity The Big Sleep The Third Man Chinatown Batman: Under the Red Hood Full Metal Jacket The Lighthouse Been knocking out movies after everyone else goes to sleep. Mix of first time and rewatches.

I couldn’t figure out the tone they were going for. Unluckiest guy in the world meets girl and falls in love and completely switches his luck is essentially a romcom premise, but they tried to play it as deadly serious as possible. Alec Baldwin beating multiple women to force Macy’s hand into being unlucky again (?) took me out of the movie as well. I thought Macy and Bello were both fine, I’m not a huge fan of Baldwin as an actor in general though. Edit: to clarify, I don’t think this movie should’ve been a comedy, I just don’t think it works
