Heading back to the year my love affair began. I love .net show reviews btw “The house lights go down... Trey comes out, takes a big wipe of his nose with his sleeve... and the FUNK SIREN echoplex/delay glissando A note down an octave, thus alerting all of central Ohio to the presence of paranormal activity. A specter was loose in the venue. Who you gonna call? Peter Venkman this apparition was summoned from the netherworld of another dimension, a true wraith. Such an entity cannot be completely explained with words, one must hear it to "understand" it. Possibly one of the best second sets I've ever witnessed. The Ghost>Free is what dreams are made of. Trey was having some equipment issues during Ghost, which I think might have pissed him off a bit - to the benefit of everyone in attendance. This jam is a MUST HEAR. INCREDIBLY tight transitions, sinister jamming into lilty delays with a HUGE LONG D chord strumming buildup to the emancipation of the Poltergeist summoned by the band... the Ghost was then FREE.”
My mom was freaked out about Y2k that year which prevented us from going to Naples that year. I was so mad because I wanted to go to Big Cypress. I was a senior in high school, and I'm guessing my parents wouldn't have let me go anyways.
Saw two fellow goose fans at the local brewery tonight. Saw that hat and immediately had to give the fist bump. They were Florida St fans so I assumed it was user ANTWONE
This week's dinner and a movie... Imagine getting that possum and having no idea what's about to hit you to open up set 2 with that Ghost My first show was the next night at Alpine
Been playing Goose shows while I bartend at lunch - not sure the clientele likes it but I’m having a good ole time
Listening to the first Yarmouth soundboard now. Love that they’re giving Arrow the love it deserves recently
Happy 24th birthday to Billy Breathes and happy 47th birthday to Wake of the Flood. P cool they both came out on the same day
Billy Breathes is such a good album. Some of the songs are kind of meh live, but they are great album songs. Off the top of my head Theme From the Bottom is equally good in both settings.
I have been thinking this Goose Asheville show was an FM transmitter drive-in but happy to see it’s PA. Fuck yesss.
Peter only really started playing keyboards seriously when he joined the band a few years ago. He's gotten noticably better there and is still a solid guitar player. I don't think there are many limits to Rick's potential on guitar. Really excited to see where they can go.
Heard that somewhere but didn’t know if it was true. Just incredible to come that far in such a short amount of time. Need to just be writing songs at a rapid pace. An expansive catalog will do this band good in a few years
they already have a really good one considering how long they’ve been together. Of course some of those songs were written pre goose by Peter.
It's been mentioned in a few interviews and articles over the last few years. His mom is a music teacher. He has also played cello and drums and probably some other stuff I'm sure. He played some piano at times but not concentrating on it to this level.
yeah, read somewhere or saw he did sound for dopapod at one point too. Not sure how accurate that is. Wouldn’t surprise me though.
Had to go and look it up since you said something. Only ones I see are Doc Brown and Yeti from Great Blue. However, Rick apparently brought a shit ton of songs over from Vasudo: Flowdown Tumble Wysteria Lane Hot Tea Echo of a Rose Butter Rum had no idea..
Damn that felt good. That Fleeprise in the first set was sick. Western Sun, Tumble to close the 1st set. Creatures > Your Eyes and Madhuvan to open the 2nd.
Just realized this morning that the last time we saw them was in Richmond last year. Time to Flee encore was cut short and they didn't have time for the jam section. Now they Fleeprised it for us last night.
