Basically a former grader at BGS left and is now somehow getting dozens of Black Label grade (perfect scores) cards. He now works for Leaf and they don't seem to care.
That and the CEO of Leaf has been selling superfractors on ebay. Not just any either, the top guys in the sport. He has the Baker Mayfield, luka, acuna, soto , etc. It's incredible
It's Mariota so less than the money spent... But he got a lot of great *checks Topps rookie checklist* Vince Mayle autos
having trouble locating the thread, I'll link it when I find it. also Promo3 on ebay for a code today $3 off anything over $3
I've been doing my best to avoid them lately, there's a ton of threads on BO that prove an insane amount of cards are being trimmed and graded. Nearly as bad, those trimmed cards that get rejected by graders end up being sold raw on ebay. I've had three clearly trimmed cards I've returned to sellers this past week alone. I knew they were trimmed before I put a micrometer to them.
Almost forgot to post this weeks items. Accidentally purchased a second Warren Moon from that series. Oopsie.
COMC is a great site to pick up random stuff while also saving on shipping costs. Some of the stuff is priced terribly but there is definitely some fair price and underpriced cards to be found.
Ordered another $100 from COMC tonight. I find that site easier to use than Ebay. It's great for finding common auto singles to fill sets rather than getting them from ebay and having to pay 50 different sellers shipping costs.
Mine has banned me from all auction sites for the time being. I still buy shit all the time and it pisses her off.
A few years back I bought 2 Devin Booker National Treasures RPA's for $900 a piece. Then he had that 70 point game and figured I would sell high and got $2k each for them and was feeling pretty good about myself. Looks up to see what they're worth now.... ~$5k a piece. Fuck.
NBA is very weird like that, especially with things like stories of Chinese people buying them as investments and gangs using them as forms of currency or some crap like that.
Pleased with this weeks take. Dumbass Dolphin signed the back of the card. What a horrible franchise.
Found some pack pulled autos upstairs in a box I didn't think had anything in it. I remember when I pulled the Tim Duncan, Jeffrey Hammonds and William Floyd because I thought all three were going to be studs. Fuck Paul Pierce.
Friend of mine in HS stole my 55 Brooklyn Dodgers I had inherited from my GF, then sold them. He committed suicide a few decades later. I still have some good cards tho.
So been in my home for 7 or 8 years and my neighbors to our left are older, very nice people from Queens. Long story short they invited us over for dinner last night. I always knew he was a gigantic Mets fan so we always spend at least 20-40 hours in the summer talking baseball. So he lays reference to his collection last night while we are eating dinner. I said you never mentioned that before, I’d like to see it sometime. It was literally one of the coolest fucking things I’ve ever seen in my life. He has basically collected all sorts of programs and memorabilia since the franchise inception. He has quite a few full sets, but his Mets collection is hard to even put into context. The stories he has just as he is flipping through. Pretty much if they were an adequate player he has damn near all the cards. He’s also currently working on obtaining every player who was ever a Met, autograph. He has like 20 remaining. But seriously it was the coolest collection I’ve ever seen in my life. I felt like I should have been charged admission. It was like a museum meant for my brain and I could have listened to his stories for 4-5 hours at a clip. My appreciation in this post doesn’t even do a fraction of justice for what this guy has amassed. I’ve become more of a minimalist in my older age but I still appreciate the thrill through the posts if that makes sense. Good luck. Edit: He has an entire room dedicated to this and his own Dewey decimal system. It’s fucking beautiful and unreal.
I cannot find a shred of evidence that COMC ever adds any new cards. I check every day, because I'm a loser, and I've yet to find a single new card for any of the umpteen sets I'm trying to complete. I picked the place clean after the first week, but I need MOAR! I've resorted to begging on card forums. I need more sources.
Digital cards with, "Authentic Digital Signature" might be the dumbest thing I've ever seen. Even dumber than Craftsman Tool cards.
