We all knew the "back door" existed, ie the Kushners of the world donating a shitload of money so junior could get in. The "side door," where people got put onto the rowing team with everyone involved knowing they would never row, I kind of doubt that one.
I was listening to either the Natural Rewatchables or the BS from today, and he admitted he didn’t know how to pronounce “idolatry.”
I think he said he was Dyslexic when he was younger. It’s why I figured he has issues pronouncing words. I guess I’m in the minority but I find him and Russillo hilarious together. I didn’t listen to Russillo at all when he was at ESPN since he was on during the work day.
I like him and Rusillo together. I just think that Simmons can come across as pompous/arrogant sometimes. I don’t think it’s intentional either, he has just lost touch with normal people.
Lets just start a Simmons/Russillo mad-libs for their joint episodes, its the same fucking thing every single show: "Thats why I don't get the _______ thing on Twitter I see now" "You and I were both early on _______" Russilo brings up a valid point people are making on race, immediately dismisses it Russilo mentions an obscure Celtics player from the past, Bill cackles LeBron/Laker bashing 30 mins of Celtics discussion from Bill and Mr. "I promise I'm not even a Celtics fan anymore"
Did anyone else catch Bill saying Whoa-Ford for Wordpress today. It triggers me like nothing else they he doesn’t know how to say words.
Weird listening to Bill propose a plan for a play-in game for the nba playoffs after listening to him last week not to pleased that the ncaa has play-in games.
He was a nice change from the Talk Radio Guy prototype that basically had hot takes and not much substance. Plus he liked the nba and actually watched games.
i still find most simmons pods enjoyable and russillo and simmons are good. i think their weekly nba podcast isn't great because it's repetitive but that's the nature of the nba. the lakers and celtics being bad and lebron and kyrie-centered discussions is what you'd talk about for months. if they did a podcast every two weeks and spent an hour or so on the last two weeks' news (e.g. zion in the tourney, the oscars, whatever) and then the other half on the nba, it'd be better because they'd have more material to cover. the nfl season is so short and sal and simmons can focus on gambling so their weekly show works.
Simmons and Russillo "Nobody could have seen this Tatem thing coming..." Uh, Haralabob did on podcast last summer.
Not sure what was worse, 7 minutes of Bill’s golf game or Bill and JackO’s take on Trump/Russia. No one is tuning in to listen to those takes.
Rubin ruined The Natural podcast like she did the Varsity Blues podcast. Hopefully no more from her on the Rewatcheables.
I listened to Simmons and Jacko talk politics, so that is on me. Just two guys from Holy Cross handicapping what plays with the white working class in the midwest.
I thought it was somewhat helpful for understanding where white guys who make over 100k in passive income think the democratic party is and why don't you pay the players.
I knew it had to be her when he said first time surprise guest. She is the only family who hasnt been on.
has his wife ever been on his pod? She's been on one of the crappy Bachelor pods right? I don't recall her ever being on the BS Report
No, she hasnt been on his BS pod but since she was on a bachelor pod I counted her. I havent got a chance to listen to the Hader pod yet but saw the surprise and thought it might be her.
why? she was really good. obviously it wouldn't be fun if she's on every couple of months but she's a way better guest than his dad (who i haven't listened to in years) and is clearly where he gets his humor from.
His mom: I don’t think I have anything to do with your audience. Bill mustn’t get his common sense from mom.
does Tate react to UNC losses or does he do the thing Bill does when the Pats lose where he pretends it doesn't bother him?
I hope it is because it could be incredible, but it could also be one of those interviews where he’s giving his interviewee a hand job under the table the whole time.
The rewatchables are essentially just the ringer staff proving their worth in knowledge of LA geography now.
really brave of Russilo to go out on such a limb predicting the #5 pick (DWade) in a loaded draft was going to be good, maybe he's the one NBA teams should hire instead of Haralabob also, saying Dwight Howard isn't a hall of famer is ridiculous and I hate D12
At least he isn’t kissing his ass like every other medium. I’m not a huge Lebron guy so it’s refreshing to me.
