370x1 x 3 HIGH BAR SQUAT Felt great squatting for the first time in months. First rep flew up and contemplated going straight for 405, but I'm going to work up to it over a few weeks here.

The power in the gym was out this morning until ~30 minutes ago. 95 degrees today. You can see everyone I stand or sit with the massive puddle of sweat underneath
As an addendum to the squatting, I upped my romanian deadlifts to 320x8 x2 and the DOMS in my lower back this morning is brutal.
new gym has no air in the side where the dl platform and squat racks reside. you can always tell who has a lower body day there are ladies bootcamps ran on that side too. being in a strongman gym, i forgot what girls looked like. i am ready for these new challenges.
Did 3 x8 of 320 last week, wasn't fun. Might be doing it again later today, either that or heavy farmer walks. Haven't decided.
Finally failed on a max, tried to bite off 525(previous is 510) and wasn't all that close. Got 510 again and a good drop set so not too upset.

Sooo....I'll never make it to Sweden for World's, but I may have another goal to shoot for. Current long term (2 year) goal is to hit a Master's state record. Barring an injury or some new monster moving into the state, I'm on track. But I checked the qualifying totals for Masters in the 105 class and it is currently 655. I only hit 615 at my last meet, but I'm planning on a few PRs in September. I may never actually TRAVEL to nationals, but it would be cool to at least qualify, even at a Master's level in a couple of years. Screw you youngun's.

There was talk of plate flips in here earlier, does anyone have a specific routine for them? Tried em for the first time yesterday. My right hand is about 10x better than my left, probably from all the years of excessive masterbation.
First SBD day of the block. Squat - 485 single, 425 set of 5, 385 for backoff 5s. Bench - 300 for 3 singles Block pulls - 525 for 3 singles. I also got to play with an Australian Shepherd puppy. Great. Fucking. Day.
I do them but I don't really take it seriously or have any sort of routine and it's always end of workout. At gym, I'll do 35s with big lip a few times before I leave. Can do those easily. I'm hit or miss with bumper 35s. My typical thing at home is I'll do like 30 in a row right hand with 25s and maybe 2x15 or 3x10 with left, too much right jerking here as well. Have done a 45 a few times, not easy. Main thing, either wear strong shoes or be quick with getting your feet out of the way if you're using steel plates. Have dropped a few on my feet and not a good feeling.
Somehow screwed up my hamstring in a deload session, how the fuck does that happen. Not terrible, no tears but just sore as hell for the last 4-5 days. Had 1 of my better pressing workouts in a while today which was good, can hopefully get my legs back soon.
So my deadlifts have been straight trash lately. Struggling with anything over 500. 505 moved like oatmeal after 475 moving real fast. I finally just got mad and quit over stressing my positioning and the fucker flew. Backoffs at 485 are moving like warmups. I’ve got 6 more deadlift sessions before my meet so it’s time to quit fucking around and bring this aggression every set
Aggression is key, why I like deadlifting at home. Can make stupid noises to pump myself up without looking like a fool in front of a bunch of people.
Started watching strongest man in history on history channel. Pretty damn entertaining but anything is entertaining when you have Eddie Hall and Oberst together.
Was only half way through 1 episode when I posted last comment. Watched the other 1 1/2 tonight, show is just awesome. Strongman stuff is cool, just hilarious with Oberst and Eddie together and Brian Shaw/Nick Best as sidekicks.
Figured since I have a two week vacation coming up I’d try and see what I can do with bench since I’ve toned it down a lot since tearing everything up. Pushed 245 for 20 straight reps. Was pretty happy with that not doing more that 135 for the last six months.
Damn storm. Due to the storm, I had some work obligations that had to change dates...to the same weekend as my previously planned meet. Sonofabitch. Found a meet in Hattiesburg a couple weeks after. Not ideal, but I’m going to make that work.
