At least the pounding is at the hand of a good team. Brewers are getting smacked around by the Rockies.
It is my understanding that when Mauer moved to first they asked him to take a pay cut so they could improve it. They thought the fact he would be looking at it instead of having his back to it would help their case. No dice though. He refused to renegotiate.
Twins tv crew noted during game yesterday that the last time the Tigers started the season with 2 consecutive shutouts, Ty Cobb was on the team. Twins may not be threadworthy.
Is there a Minnesota Vikings Thread on here? I don't venture out of the Buckeye thread very often besides to hand out some likes in the Big Ten threads and some TV Shows. I have never seen one. At least the Wild have made the playoffs...
Bet the Twinks are glad the weather cleared enough to get this game in today! Thanks for trashing the D today, Blyleven. Hope it made the trip worthwhile.
I had no idea what you were talking about in regard to Blyleven until just now. Maybe I'm a dick but I found it funny.
It's hilarious if you're not a downtrodden city struggling to crawl out from under 50 years of hell. I'm sure the Twins are thrilled to be represented by such a class guy. Blyleven took the tweets down and "apologized" while whining about the mean people swearing at him, just as he was still whining about the checked swing call in game 1 late in game 3. A call like that can lead to a team going 3 games without an earned run. Because the teams play so often, and because I like to watch the other teams broadcast, I see the Twins crew probably 10 times per season. Blyleven is a churlish, whiny cunt. It's like he's trying to be Hawk without Hawk's charisma.
How many more seasons does "nice day at a beautiful new ballpark with the finest local beer and sausage" buy us?
It's irrelevant to how much the local 9 suck, but Twins 3rd base coach Gene Glynn is a long time family friend.
"Oh you're so sensitive" is on par* with "you mad bro" as a conversational device. * golf reference in recognition of Masters Week.
I'm mad as fuck about it and when Bert Blyleven dies, he can go to hell & hang out with Kirby Puckett
I'm posting in here solely for solidarity with my Minneapolis bros. Haven't cared about baseball in 20 years but do hope to get to Target Field soon.
Byron Buxton has been absolutely killing it the past 10 games: .432 AVG, 1 HR, 9 RBI's, 5 SB's, 4 triples, 2 doubles, and 13 runs scored.
Hey, didn't know there was a Twins thread. So ever since 96.3 went alternative, the good thing is we don't hear the same dumb music every inning, but the bad part is the insipid "go music, go twins" tagline. Hot hot takes
