Great game all around. Showed the ability to battle back and open it up. Nice work from Julio, Kenta, and Kenley. Russ went ham. Kelly went mental. Fun stuff 9 more to go.
Well that was the game. At home, game 5, with all our aces available. Just have to do some damage to Strasburg. Gonna be interesting
luckily the 2 WS losses have broken me and I can watch these games just being anxious instead of pulling my hair out each inning
with Beaty at least you have a greater chance of him making good contact, the way the last game went vs Strasburg they need as many batted balls as they can get
Hard to fire a manager who just led the team to the most wins in franchise history but I guess that’s where we are. Bitter way for it to end. I guess it beats losing in the WS
the Kershaw move just felt like giving in to baseball cliches and trying to follow the lead of the other teams using their aces in relief. But he isn't an ace anymore, and he's not the type of pitcher that can come in and blow guys away for an inning The playoffs are mostly random/stupid so I don't get too bent out of shape when the "right" moves go wrong. But when the wrong moves prove to be wrong, well that's why managers of playoff teams can get fired.
Just inexcusable. on top of that, too many players with just absolute dog shit performances. Bellinger got better, but he wasn’t good. Seager and Pollock were awful.
Couldn’t have said it better. I honestly didn’t think we were heavy favorites against the Nats because I felt they were the only team in the NL that could beat us. We are a better team but they have the right amount of studs in the right spots to take a series. Kershaw move was inexcusable but I’m still more pissed at Seager and Bellinger.
I don’t have the numbers but I think outside of game 3 we were something like 1-30 with RISP for the series.
As much as I like Ryu and as much as Kershaw is still effective in the regular season, it feels like flame-throwers are needed at the top of the rotation and LA only has 1 right now
Seager was absolutely brutal this series, my goodness. And as you all said, the Kershaw shit was so cutsie and fucking stupid. How Roberts thought that was the right play I have no idea, I'd say its a fireable offense just about
May. Ryu likely won’t be back im guessing. Gonsolin will have a chance to make the rotation with Urias. They’ll have to sign a guy or two
I “like” Dave. We have been dominant with him. Almost to the promise land. The reasonable person in me says don’t overreact. Keep him around. But maybe that’s the unreasonable move
Maybe, just maybe, the Dodgers will fully open up the checkbook. but probably not. it was a fun season guys. It almost always ends horribly, one way or another. I enjoy the camaraderie all season long
No organization is going to complain about having a shit ton of good baseball players. I feel like that is the strength of the team and it serves you really well in a 162 game regular season. Our 3-6 in the rotation and 8-15 in the lineup is better than anybody sans probably Houston. But as you said, you need horses in the postseason. We are lacking in that department. We also need our best players to show up more frequently and not pull a disappearing act in the postseason.
-We finally have a bulldog at the top of the rotation in Buehler. The stuff aside, dude has ice in his veins and I can't wait to roll him out into high stakes games for years to come. -I was furious in 38 second span where the two home runs happened, but I honestly feel bad for Kershaw. He was put in a position to fail and nobody feels worse than him. -Bullpen management absolutely baffling. It literally feels like the worst possible sequence of decisions you could make. No words. -Absolutely pathetic series by Seager. Can only hope a long offseason of clearing his head and healing his body will lead to the guy we had a few years ago next year. -Bellinger at the plate was frustrating, but at least he contributed on the basepaths and on the field. -Bringing in Jansen at the end like that was just sad. -Fuck Josh Hader for putting us in this mess in the first place.
The thing about hiring baseball managers is that it feels like hockey hirings. You either hire a retread and try to rekindle their magic, or you hire someone unproven and risk them falling on their face. rarely do you get a proven coach in their prime jumping to your team
You only really notice a manager in the postseason, the regular season is mostly autopilot where they just take orders from the FO. just no Maddon please
