Listen #Georgia Bulldogs guys we know how to desperate yall are to have Jake Pope in your class but have some pride and dignity. Sheesh Tim Watts Posted on 3 hrs, V I P, User Since 133 months ago, User Post Count: 37961 3 hrsVIP 133 months 37961 I will preface this by saying it’s recruiting so there are no guarantees and things can change but... with that said I know there has been a lot of discussion/ hand wringing with Jake Pope visiting Georgia a couple times this season for games. But after talking to sources on both sides of the fence it doesn't appear that there is a lot of concern on Bama’s end, or optimism/hope on the Dawgs’ that he is flipping to UGA. UGA recruited Pope hard until the end and I'm told would still take him in the class. But at the same time I am told he is firm to Alabama. The Athens visits were not surprises to anyone at UA and Pope goes to games with a friend. Athens is 30-45 minute ride from his house and UGA is fine with hosting him. On the Alabama side communication has been good. Not only with Jake but with those closest to him. Sources close to Pope say he put a lot of thought into his decision before making it and didn't anticipate him changing it. Also it should be noted UNC finished second for Pope in the recruiting process. That's the latest we have for now. But as always we will keep you posted if we hear more.
Twitter seems to be down , but Luther Burden released a top 3 of Bama, UGA and Mizzou Seems like it's FSU and Oregon right now for Coleman
our most prolific recruiting insider says we're not taking another WR commit. we already have four committed.
No I idea why we were included. Saw he called us his dream school like he did Oklahoma earlier this summer, probably says a lot about our inclusion. All Zou or UGA.
If he can hit and be in position he's already better than the super athletic Jordan Battle, at least.
I think they fit scheme wise better that way anyways. UGA is in a good spot for White too, but he seems to always be highest on who he visited last. Still has his game visit here to go.
Abor trolls openly apparently, hence Dump's confidence when he was gushing over TAMU for a bit, but Watts got on the board like 2 weeks ago and said after the Mater Dei game communication with Abor stopped/slowed down and he expected momentum to pick up with other schools. Everywhere else maintained we were in a good spot, which goes to show again you can't listen to anything from Bama guys outside of Watts.
Seems like the backup plan is Cyrus Moss if you guys get Enai. Some feel good about Marvin Jones Jr because he's close with Earl Little, but he's so quiet nobody knows.
I think that's how we feel. Just get one of these top edge guys left then fill the last 9-10 slots elsewhere. Our depth chart/Jeremiah Alexander will probably cost us a couple. I just want a good true DL. Watching us against UF, I pretty much hit a 180 on Nolen. Take him and his whole family, we need a nose guard that can make plays (this still isn't happening though :( )
We will lose Anderson and most likely Nolan Smith at edge. Could lose Travon Walker as well. We need at least one edge player to come in ready to play. I'd take Nolen too. Those types on the interior make a world of difference.
