That was an awesome match but whoever was producing it did Sammy no favors with that camera shot of his GTH at the end
I’d be interested to see AEW have Santana and Ortiz work with Eddie just so Inner Circle breaks up and Sammy is on his own and we never have to see Jake Hager brood in the back of a backstage shot in a polo again
Dynamite felt like a true season premiere, moreso than last week even. Big shakeup opening segment, new feuds starting, a debut, a return; very packed episode
It's crazy how many good feuds and storylines they have intertwined with each other at the moment. All without Kenny and Mox. You could also argue that their title holders are least interesting aspect of the show.
He was in a six man dark match after Battle of the Belts last week versus Hangman/Dark Order. It was really painful to see. He looks much worse than when he started in AEW which was already a low bar. Just sign Jeff, let them do a short run together, then he needs to retire.
It feels like the first three years were about Hangman. He was the protagonist of the show. Now we're shifting to, I think, Adam Cole being the protagonist with a long, multi-year arc.
really? I feel like he’s going to become the top heel. Eventually Kenny and the Bucks will be face vs Cole and Red Dragon
Just because it gives me all the feels of arguably peak ROH, reDRagon is my current favorite. Cole's is the best for popping the crowd. Cargill's theme is also fantastic. Adds so much to her presentation.
With Fenix out, wish they’d turn Penta heel and let him be an ass kicker for a while. Let Fenix come back and have Penta turn on him in a bloody lucha underground feud
I think you are on to something about Adam Cole, but they are definitely sending mixed signals. Cole's promo last night was heelish, but juxtaposed against the Bucks he's a face. I am not sure what direction this is all headed, esp since Cole has to beat the biggest face in the company for the belt.
I wonder what they have on tap next for Danielson and how long they plan to let Archer feud with Hangman. He doesn't do anything for me, but he's a believable challenger for the title to let Hangman pile up some Ws.
I would hope they've got a better match for a PPV than that. Maybe end the Punk-MJF program with MJF going over and he's the big feud for the PPV with Page and then Punk-Danielson is a big feature on the PPV as well. Problem with that is I don't see MJF competing for the title until they're ready to put it on him and Page has only had it for a couple months now.
Want to see the Punk-MJF feud not have a clear end because of Wardlow. Go away from it then let them finish it down the line after MJF takes the belt from Hangman.
I actually think that's fine. Like a Clash of Champions type program. Gives Archer a little shine as a main eventer, let's Hangman get a solid victory over a monster. I actually think it would be a bad thing if Hangman held on to the title for too long. He's not super over. Need to transition to Cole while he's white hot. My best, way too early guess for the March PPV: Cole/Hangman for the AEW Championship Lucha Bros vs House of Black vs Jurassic Express vs Sting/Darby for the Tag Titles. The tag title scene is so crowded they could go a number of directions and it would be fine. I'm thinking with the way they brought all the teams out after JE won the titles, they're setting up for a multi team match. Maybe some type of TLC match. Hayter vs Britt for the Women's Championship Cargill vs Shida? for the TBS Championship Cody vs Moxley? for the TNT Championship reDRagon/Bucks Kingston/Ortiz/Santana vs Jericho/Hager/Sammy MJF vs Wardlow
Ha! Shows you how loaded the roster is. I'll backtrack and say they can probably stretch Punk vs MJF out to the PPV. Danielson vs Cody for the title? Mox makes a surprise return as a heel and attacks somebody, he doesn't need to be on the card. If the TNT championship is the workrate title, it has to be on Danielson sooner rather than later.
Interested to see what they do with Dante Martin, Lethal, and Lio Rush vs Team Taz Could be an interesting trios match with those three vs Starks, Hobbs, and HOOK
Apparently the show is going to be in Saudi Arabia. No word yet if the Elimination Chamber match will feature journalists that have crossed MBS.
Jungle Express vs Beaver Boys will be good but yeah it’s a weaker show on paper. Next week Rampage is live so that should be a good one.
Just had an encounter with an old lady at Publix whose voice is a dead ringer for Danhausen. Had some Zapps Voodoo chips in my purchase and she goes "oh, are these little guys in the bag?" (bag had a bunch of voodoo dolls on it) I'm glad I had my mask on to hide my shit eating grin.
Jesus Christ Stop branding your special matches as PPV’s and vice versa…just pull them out when a story calls for it instead of writing yourself into corners with all your angles because of when your special attraction PPVs are scheduled
I haven’t really been keeping up, but if the plan is title versus title at WM, either Brock or Roman has to win the Rumble otherwise what is the point of the Rumble and EC?
Some people think the original plan was for both Brock and Rollins to win the titles at Day. That Brock will retain at Rumble and Rollins will upset Roman. Brock will move back over to Smackdown setting up Brock v Roman for Mania (via Elimination Chamber) and Big E wins the Royal Rumble setting up Seth v E at Mania. In this scenario Rollins would return to RAW so we just took an extra long route to get to the original plan. I do like this more than unification... Gives E a big time win at the Rumble. Rollins get's to say he's the only guy who can beat Roman and Brock.
