You're just going to assume this is true? What if it isn't? Do you see the bit of irony of arguing cops in schools are bad while at the same time arguing cops aren't aggressive enough in arresting students for alleged complaints of sexual assault?
Do you have some information that isn't out at the general public? And reading Dr. Gerald Muhammad's bio, he doesn't seem like the type that would cover up sexual assault. A simple google search shows Texas high school staff are mandatory reporters for things like sexual assault. So it seems like a stretch they're actively covering up for abusers but I could be wrong.
I tend to believe the accusers in sexual assault situations, especially when high school kids are so upset they are holding a demonstration to bring light to it.
Based on your confidence, our only option is to hold Dr. Muhammad and the rest of the LEHS administration accountable and have the police arrest all the students accused of sexual assault.
You're being really dumb about this. Take all the stuff leading up to it out of it. The cop didn't need to violently shove the kid that had not impeded or threatened them at all. Period. That's what escalated it.
Now you know how I feel with you constantly changing the goalposts. Neither of us can tell from the footage whether or not the student impeded or threatened the police. That's the crux of the argument. You seem to take issue with any action the police take in the school. That's why it seems unlikely you would actually support arresting any student on the spot accused of sexual assault.
Arrested on the spot? No. Who said that? You're being weird again. I'm fine with them there if the school called them. I'm not ok with them escalating the situation. Just walk the kid out.
You're the one being weird. The students were marching because the school allegedly didn't arrest and remove students accused of sexual assault. This is the quintessential example of you moving the goalposts back and forth. I have been unable to get you to provide any consistent argument. So far the only consistency has been that you would have provided the perfect response while Dr. Muhammad, the police and everyone else involved have been unable to do anything correctly.
Again, ignore everything leading up to that point. The cop shouldn't be shoving a kid like that. Period. The kid hadn't touched them. Hadn't impeded them. Just walk your suspect out. No need to be a badass and shove a kid and escalate the situation. I've been consistent on that.
We don't know that. He clearly did something that made the officer holding the student in cuffs to turn around and give some reason (whether justified or not) for the second officer to push him. The way the student tried to fight the officer afterward gives the impression it was more than just a random decision by the second officer.
This is where we're different. I've seen too many of these to default to thinking the cop needed a reason to be a dick. And yea, I'm not surprised someone would square up after being shoved like that, especially a kid.
I hope you never end up on a jury. Facts be damned, just base the case it off your prior experiences. The chances two cops decided to randomly become dicks at the exact same moment has to be astronomical.
I'm open to being proven different but nothing in the video showed the kid deserved to be shoved like that.
The only times I recall noticing Creighton post is in a multi-page battle with dblplay1212 . Weird. It’s like they created a handle just to get into stupid arguments.
Funny, I went back through his posts last night to see if he'd changed his name. Half his posts were long back and forth with me. He had some really awful takes to do it. He's on ignore now. Lyrtch can we get an IP check on Creighton?
“When sheriff’s deputies in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, pulled over Octavio Lopez for an expired inspection tag in 2018, they wrote on his traffic ticket that he is white. Lopez, who is from Nicaragua, is Hispanic and speaks only Spanish, said his wife. In fact, of the 167 tickets issued by deputies to drivers with the last name Lopez over a nearly six-year span, not one of the motorists was labeled as Hispanic, according to records provided by the Jefferson Parish clerk of court. The same was true of the 252 tickets issued to people with the last name of Rodriguez, 234 named Martinez, 223 with the last name Hernandez and 189 with the surname Garcia. This kind of misidentification is widespread — and not without harm. Across America, law enforcement agencies have been accused of targeting Hispanic drivers, failing to collect data on those traffic stops, and covering up potential officer misconduct and aggressive immigration enforcement by identifying people as white on tickets. “If everybody’s white, there can’t be any racial bias,” Frank Baumgartner, a political science professor at the University of North Carolina of Chapel Hill, told WWNO/WRKF and ProPublica.”
I’m imagining several posters in this thread would stop for the cop, let him in the bed of the truck, then just jump on the interstate to go wherever they were headed.
He’d 100% kidnap you at gunpoint if you tried, but the scenario where he’s a helpless passenger is hilarious.
Last night a cop here shot a 61 year old in a wheelchair 9 times as he was rolling into Lowe’s. Video is of course extremely depressing.
He was in a fucking wheelchair and nobody else was even remotely near him. Nobody else on on the video except him and the cops. There's no "I was fear of my life" play here. That's 100% murder.
the cops shooting the guy in the wheelchair was more dangerous for the woman standing inside the store than the man in the wheelchair. Jesus christ that’s terrible
Unloading nine rounds into the back of a guy in a wheelchair who was accused of shoplifting.....what the fuck.
How are they just so nonchalant about firing 8 shots into the back of a guy in a wheelchair like it was routine?
Cops have never once told the truth. Are we supposed to believe this would be the first time when it’s their police union leader they’re protecting?
