I'm not a religious person, but I've never connected with the saying that god never puts more on you than you can handle quite like marrying someone who makes twice what I do
You know, Big Cement lobby is pushing all kinds of crazy requirements to line their pockets these days Spoiler in reality “a foot” was hyperbole but I have no idea what code would be in… West Virginia?… 4” - 6”?
Backyard coming togehter. Grass closest to camera is like a baseball field. Far side ehhh not so great but it’s been filling in like wild fire. On a whim Monday decided to do something about my kids dirt pit. Rubber pavers and gonna put a kids picnic table on it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Compressor seems like it went out overnight. Bonus points for doing it on a day when nobody is going to come out.
Yeah, my guys are on the way. Same folks you used for either a/c or plumbing, so I will either pm you a beer or a knuckle sammy
If it is United Mechanical, if you are signed up for their 6 month inspections they do not charge you the weekend/emergency service call. Just normal price.
It is and I am. Thought that was only Monday through Saturday, but that's great. Tbf I probably would have blown the guy if that was the cost. Still might anyway
My unit is pretty old. Part was so cheap that they only charged labor and he was done in 10 minutes. The perfect repair experience imo
The wife wants new faucets for the his/hers sinks. I'm going to replace the shut off valves with 1/4 turn and run new supply lines while I'm at it. I hate plumbing.
We’re remodeling our primary bath. Wife is learning the hard way that you get to chose 2 of speed, quality and price. And she’s not happy with the speed. Haha.
This was another option that's much more functional but I don't think it looks as good. It would have the same riser on the back, just different layout
Haha yea idk why they put it there. It's under the patio already. I think I told him I'd store a Blackstone in thay space and he put an egg.
a.tramp the pool in those pictures is 6 feet from the house in the deep end. He's changing it to only 5 feet feom the house so it'll be 1' longer.
dblplay1212 the first thing you are doing wrong is building a pool. After that, it is mostly a matter of personal preference combined with knowing what tour personal preference will lead to. The best pool is completely round, then oval. The next is square or rectangle. From a circulation and cleanliness stand point. And that matters. Anytime you add steps, ledges, or niched out areas in the pool you are not going to have as good as circulation. That means dead areas for debris to accumulate and water is not refreshed as much. That leads to more overall maintenance cost. Out of the 2 you posted, my experience would push towards the second one being a better design from a pool guy’s standpoint. Trust me when I say that the majority of pool cleaners will not clean an area of the pool if it is hard to get to. You can awkwardly get to every wall of the pool with a brush in the 2nd design, even in cold weather. The first design most likely will require someone to get feet wet to properly brush. Not a big deal in summer but probably will not happen in winter.
Damn didn't really think about the shape affecting circulation. Appreciate the input. Probably still leaning 1 bc yolo but at least I know I'm fucking up ahead of time.
Have you considered the blueprint that shows you at a buddy's pool 5-10 times per season? I went with that option on the current house and it's been great
This is the marker of a true craftsman. My FIL is a plumber and his #1 tip for people is to not have a garbage disposal.
I have a 4 yr old that's a fish. We are at the pool 2-4 times a week so having an option to do that here and having it heated so she can swim all year makes it worth it to us.
Those windows are actually 8 feet apart irl. Would love to somehow change that exterior wall to where it could open up to a bar area inside that room. Swing open like French doors and have a bar set up in there.
I may be making this up, but I think at my last house there was some big difference for insurance purposes if the pool structure/deck was connected to the house or not. That may be worth a google search if you haven't already come across that.
