There is discussion on Twitter today about how Edmonton needs to find a goalie, but my question is how do they do that? They can’t afford to take on salary long term, so you’re looking for a rental. Okay, great, but they can’t give up that first round pick to land a rental when there are no guarantees they will make the playoffs with whoever they acquire. So you’re back to finding someone that might be better than what you have, but also maybe not. Detroit has Greiss who isn’t great this season, but maybe you trade a 4th for him and hope it works? Like what else can you do?
Im not sure how many swings Holland has left. If they miss the playoffs this season, I wonder if they clean house yet again.
Would MAF accept that move? He didn’t want to leave Vegas, so I’m not sure he would agree to leave Chicago at this point.
Edmonton's problem is that theyre a 4-5 player team. And if 1 of their 2 god tier players have a streak of playing just merely very good, they're fucked.
I think their problem now is giving Nurse that contract. He’s not #1, let alone a top 10 D in the entire league. That has totally fucked then for the foreseeable future. At least in the near term Hyman provides them a guy that can provide scoring depth. Nurse, woof.
Well they never should have hired holland. Guy is Tallon level bad. I wouldn't even call them a 4-5 player team. They are a 2 player team. If both Draisaitl and McDavid aren't on, they lose and lose badly.
They have 25 Million Plus in badly spent cap space. Literally 25% of their cap is tied up in mediocre players.
Yep and so much of it is long term, plus their prospect pool is meddling. Literally there is no hope beyond McDavid and Leon going insane.
Next year they're also going to have to pay Puljujarvi who, by virtue of playing with McDavid, is going to have 50-60 points.
I think we see Edmonton sell the farm to try to gain some cap space and get a goalie this offseason. McDavid and Draisaitl are probably at about their apex right now. They don't have any other options, and it will continue the cycle of the last 5-6 years and it will end up fucking them further.
Three more games were postponed for the Canadian teams. I believe Friedge said the 16th is basically the last date games will be postponed, so at this point all those teams are going to be at a massive disadvantage as they make up tons of games in February. It won’t be just them of course, but they will be fucked more than just about anyone else.
Why do so many national hockey writers like pro wrestling? They should be commenting on this game, not subjecting me to nerdy wrestling takes. Dorks
Oilers are now 3 points ahead of the Canucks with the same games played. That's pretty insane considering where the teams were a month's worth of games ago.
Lol That’s what they have done for a while now in net, let’s do the same shit again is your idea? you can’t be serious with this shit, at least I was just joking with the price thing.
