That wasn't even his apex for that year, he played grown up Tommy Doyle in Halloween 6: the Curse of Michael Myers
As dorky as it sounds, it captures the essence of people who love Rush pretty well Apparently it was so spot-on the band originally thought their fans were being made fun of
Rudd was so good/funny in Knocked Up. But yeah, Ant-Man. Not only did he just score a giant role in the MCU but the first one was a near perfect movie.
My nomination for least rewatchable good movie of the last five years is Silence. Which I saw in theaters and thought was beautifully shot, had great performances, and was good. But I’m going to pass on seeing it ever again
Malco was great. I'm a huge fan of his in general. They aren't similar actors though in terms of roles. Hart is a comedian that acts while Malco is an actor that's funny, if that makes sense. When I think of a market correction, it's from the standpoint of both actors filling similar roles in their career. They're both black guys that can be funny, but in no way would Malco have had Hart's career and vice versa if the other didn't exist. They play different positions.
Listening to Barnwell on the second ep of Mays' new football pod is giving me some Grantland NFL Show nostalgia. Hoping they guest on each other's pods throughout the season.
I’ve noticed Ryen talks about screens A LOT. I guess he must think it makes him sound like some sort of basketball savant.
I like listening to Fennessey a lot, but Amanda Dobbins is trash. By far the worst part of The Big Picture.
Don’t lump me in. Love me some Mallory and Haley O’Shaughnessy Amanda just annoys the shit out of me.
you are entitled to your opinion and can dislike or like whoever. just making fun of War Grundle for the "trend" of disliking a specific kind of podcast host.
Amanda is okay but i think she's a little closed-minded, which is a strange quality for someone who wants to talk about art It's also a really poor quality when there's a pandemic and the availability of media is limited (Mallory is one of the best at the ringer and should be on 5x more rewatchables)
Lol that Coughlin killed himself (Rewatchables - Cocktails). Maybe I wasn’t paying attn enough but the discussion about whether he was murdered is dumb.
Yeah that’s awful. He obviously killed himself. His confession to Brian a scene earlier made it obvious. He also left a suicide note. I haven’t listened yet but I don’t know anyone could come to that conclusion. A nitpick on that is it was a pretty legible letter for a guy who just downed a half bottle of scotch.
What is everyone’s Top 5 Rewatcheables episodes? Not just the movie itself but how funny and/or entertaining it was: Jaws Re-Heat Karate Kid The Town Top Gun
Probably The Town (fucking idiots with Hamm’s satirical accent), Point Break, AFGM...Id need to look at a list of all the ones they did. Definitely the podcast with the highest hit rate for me.
A Few Good Men Point Break Are right there too. I’ve listened to those 2-3 times. Same with The Fugutive and Step Brothers.
I don't remember Ryen talking like this when he was on the radio If it wasn't obvious that he watches a ton of NBA I think he'd be extremely annoying to me, but I love the NBA so
Speaking of Shea, I just picked up Basketball and other things ... and Movies and other things from the library.
The Any Given Sunday was one of the earliest, think it was when it was called “sports movie hall of fame” and I remember Chris Ryan’s Oliver Stone takes had me crying Also the Gladiator Rewatchables was elite
1. Top Gun 2. The Town 3. Basic Instinct 4. Ocean's 12 I'm sure there are others that were well-rounded but i don't remember them now. I think Ferris Bueller's Day Off was really solid and I loved hearing Tarantino with Chris and Sean. Similarly, I don't care about the movie but Sorkin was good, too.
My favorite 'rewatchable' esque things are the OG 'How did this get made' pods. The Fast and Furious series ones with Adam Scott as the guest, had me in tears back in the day.
Top 5 Rewatchables in no particular order Draft Day w. Mallory Top Gun w. Mallory Inglourious Basterds w. Mallory Con Air w. Shea Varsity Blues w. Mallory
The Secret of the Ooze one where Adam Pally repeatedly antagonized a NYC crowd about 9/11 stayed downloaded on my phone for over a year, listened to it so many times.
