Just seems random..didn't realize she had anything to do with them and now she's on board of directors. Maybe that's normal, but a wrestling guy.
All publicly traded companies have boards of directors loaded with people who aren’t otherwise connected to the company.
If I understand business (I really don’t know shit) I believe members of a board would be a diverse group that can help stead the direction of the company. They don’t have to have been involved with that business before. Erika is the CEO of the second largest podcast platform and a top 10 media property (or something like that). So that background makes a lot of sense for her to be placed on the board. edit: what wes tegg said
Head hunt, typically. They’re several hundred thousand dollar a year jobs given out to millionaires. Lots of former politicians end up on boards, too.
they offered me the position but i turned it down (would have conflicted with my role on the board of directors for tmb)
Either puppets for a powerful CEO which is the case here or a diverse group of people that can help the C suite They’re almost all 100,000k+ a year deals for a quarterly meeting. Pretty sweet gig
If you’re interested about the inner workings of big publicly traded companies this is a good place to start
Isn’t that how Stan Kroenke got all of his power? Basically got rich enough in real estate to get a seat in Wal-Mart’s board, then married one of the Walton daughters.
i went on a golf trip with a guy who was VP at proctor and gamble and is on the tyson board. it was pretty fascinating listening to his stories. he told me that approx 20% of all razors they make are lost due to theft
My Dad is an executive at a large traded company. One of the former CEOs loaded the board with members of Augusta so he could get in. Most of them had never worked in their industry and had no work experience that had anything to do with the industry. Went really well as you might expect.
Yeah, I figured it was related to that. The "Trump is trying to show people what will happen to the stock market if people don't elect him." Statement really threw me off. Just galaxy brain stuff.
What would be a comparable platform? I’ve gotten to where Barstool Breakfast is the only thing I regularly listen to, and it wouldn’t really work as a podcast.
I never listened to a second of barstool radio. How can Sirius afford to pay stern $120m a year? They charge $1 a month.
A little bit of sarcasm. I remember getting 6 months free with my car then going to cancel. They begged and pleaded and it went down to less than $10 month. Finally got out of it and I still get mail asking me to renew for some low low price.
Casual Barstool fan here: I listened to Pat Macafee when he was on Barstool radio on the way into work. He left and their lineup sucked and still sucks in the am. I’m on the west coast and my drive home either had a shitty show or a replay of barstool radio, I hate pre recorded stuff especially when I’ve seen it heard the stuff elsewhere.
