'BOND 25' OFFICIAL TITLE REVEALED, PLUS EVERYTHING WE KNOW ABOUT THE NEXT 007 MOVIE

    It's Daniel Craig's final appearance as 007.

Following a turbulent start to production with Cary Fukunaga replacing Danny Boyle as director and re-writing the script due to creative differences, a working title for the upcoming 25th James Bond moviestarring Daniel Craig as 007 one last time has finally been revealed: Shatterhand.

the plot would be based on Raymond Benson's 2001 novel Never Dream of Dying. Benson's novels also provided the plots for Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough, and Die Another Day.

Side note: In the novel You Only Live Twice, “Shatterhand” is the alias used by Blofeld, played by Christoph Walz, so it's very likely that we'll see him again in this movie, even though in a recent interview with Inquirer, director Cary Fukunaga was very vague about his return, as well as that of Ben Whishaw as Q.

"We haven’t finished the screenplay, so there is no way that anyone could know that," he said. "Those are two extraordinary actors, so if there is space for them in the story, I would absolutely want them there. But I don’t know yet what it’s going to be.

Previously, production was set to begin on March 4, 2019, and was slated to release in February 2020, but according to Production Weekly, Shatterhand will now begin filming on April 6 in London’s Pinewood Studios, then head to Matera, Italy to finish shooting and will release April 8, 2020.

Shatterhand will also continue off of Casino Royale.

It'll be interesting to see how the plot plays out as we watch 14-year James Bond veteran Daniel Craig as 007 one last time.

What does the last line about continuing off of Casino Royale mean? All of Craig's films have already happened sequentially. The beginning of Quantum of Solace takes place immediately after the ending of Casino Royale, and Blofeld obviously didn't appear on film until SPECTRE.

Wouldn't mind if they went young and did some type of origin story stuff.

Also like Elba, but he's only a few years younger than Craig. That being said he looks pretty badass as the villain in the trailer for that F&F spinoff.

I was never one to think playing James Bond required any real acting ability. Just a good British accent and good looks. Plus he’d probably bring a younger crowd to the series.

I always kind of liked the idea of hugh Laurie being bond. Rumor was he was in the running with Craig but he couldn’t do it because he was filming House

Jason Statham would have been good back before he got famous; he is too big of a name for it anymore. It would be like casting the Rock as Batman. The movie would be like that’s not Batman, that’s the rock in a Batman suit

Is it just a rumor that agent 007 is just the number and James Bond the name assigned to the top agent, hence why there have been so many or has that ever been confirmed? Not a huge Bond movie buff and never read any of the books but that theory made sense

Been watching some old Bond films on Netflix recently. Watched some Brosnan ones with Tomorrow Never Dies and Die Another Day the last couple nights. Dear lord those movies sucked. Goldeneye was fun and you get the nostalgia from the game, but it went terribly down hill from there.

I will mount my steed and white knight for The World Is Not Enough. I legit believe if they had stuck with their original casting of Monica Bellucci instead of going with Denise Richards as a nuclear physicist, that would be nearly unanimously regarded as a good Bond movie.

Elektra King is a good villain and Renard is a elite tier henchman. There's a lot of good stuff in that movie.

Understandably so. They're a product of their era, and their era blew ass.

Pierce Brosnan is my one big celebrity encounter that i've had. Talked to him at a bar in Kauai and told him I liked 3 of his 4 Bond movies. He seemed appreciative, and didn't ask which one I didn't like. He knows.

I think most people like Brosnan himself, but the invisible cars and windsurfing the North Pole shit really took the franchise in the wrong direction, especially once the Bourne movies hit. The producers have talked about the Bourne films and 9/11 being catalysts in a swing towards the Craig era.

there's certain canonical details that are universal to the character (orphaned when his parents died in a climbing accident, oxford, briefly married before his wife was killed, etc) that make this an impossibility i think.

pre-craig, i think it was set up like sherlock holmes. each story was a self-contained episode.

bourne may have been the most immediate catalyst, but the fight/general action choreography in the late brosnan films was about 15 years out of date. those films were really long in the tooth when it came to plotting and action sequencing

die another day was a caricature of a bond film. everyone references the shitty dialogue, the invisible car, the british guy who had surgery to look korean (or was it the other way around?), but one of my favorite things in that film is bond getting tortured for several months in a north korean detention center and emerging with a beer gut

Anyone who loves Bond should watch the Everything or Nothing documentary. The producers talk about the fallout from Die Another Day and the desire for more realism in a post 9/11 world. The footage of Craig notoriously being introduced while boating down the Thames in a lifejacket with wispy blond hair is great.

Idris Elba is too old to be Bond. He'll be 48 before the next Bond film drops and would probably be every bit of 58-60 by the time a 2nd film was released with him as Bond. Don't think he'd be bad but his popularity for the role hit too late and was in the middle of Craig's time.

I don't even mind the campy gadgets and stuff. The characters, dialogue and stories all sucking is tough to overcome, though.

Also, bad guys in old Bond films are less accurate than storm troopers, which is kind of amazing.

craig and some other bond people have always credited mike myers and the austin powers movies with moving the movies towards their more serious tone. they couldn't do campy.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austin_Powers:_International_Man_of_Mystery#Legacy

ironically, the craig bond movies being so serious and not campy has made the austin powers movies pretty dated and irrelevant. when was the last time anyone watched one of them? and they were huge at the time.

The Z4 wasn’t in Bond, you’re thinking of the Z3.

The Z8 is pure sex on wheels, and it was a crime how little they showcased it, but overall the franchise was wise to pivot back to Astons.

007 just happens to be his number and Bond is his given family name. That’s why I have a problem with Idris Elba being Bond. Bond is a specific character, and he’s specifically not black, which is fine. What I think would be cool is if they kind of rebooted the series with Idris Elba as like agent 0015 or something. You could have a similar backstory that shows they’re all orphans (and all share a similar personality type that allows them to make it through the program to become a 00 agent) but let him and the writers develop a character that stands on its own.
