He can’t throw any of his breaking stuff for strikes so no one swings anytime they see a breaking ball
Wilson can’t call a fucking breaking pitch on 3-2 there. Not with Craig not being able to locate one for 40 some odd pitches.
He took the breaking ball at 0-2 then swings at that. makes you think sometimes how often signs are being stolen
I can’t believe we let Strop walk with what is currently in that pen. Ryan, Wick, Jeffries, and Strop would’ve been something we could’ve built around but guys like Underwood, Tapera, Norwood, and Winkler have no reason to take the mound ever.
Starting pitching has bee His velocity is down and he can’t get anyone to swing at his curve. So either he’s hurt or tipping his pitches and maybe both.
Tapera looked good tonight. His slider was very sharp. Winkler has no business on a MLB roster. Cubs do have some options but seem to be waiting on using them.
Yeah I actually like tepera a lot. Toronto used him too much and his elbow gave out, but he’s had success in the majors before that.
Len guessing the exit velocity at 102 MPH on Heyward’s single up the middle earlier only to find out it was only 80 MPH made me laugh. He should know better.
Besides Kimbrel that was a great game. Ryan and Wick pretty solid from the bullpen. Kimbrel has to get that curve working or he’s done for.
Kimbrel threw strikes. pirates sitting on the fastball and crushed them. he’s got to be tipping pitches.
Apparently his bigger issue could be spin rate on his pitches. His stuff is as mentioned above... flat and not sharp
I feel like Wick is going to be the guy to close games out. let’s see how he does because it’s show time.
