Caught this show for the first time a month or two ago while on an intercontinental flight. Watched about four episodes. Finally finished watching season 2 this morning. For as confusing as the show can be I still really enjoyed it. Looking forward to the season 3 premiere, which I assume is coming this month or next.
How many seasons is this planning to go? I feel like this season is basically a continuation of season 2.
finally decided to give this a go. 1st episode last night was pretty damn good. The general population of TMB gives this show approval?
Very good show, but as most have said, season 1 is phenomenal TV, but a little drop off with season 2, but still good TV.
Same can kinda be said for season 1. Esmail himself compared the episode in season 2 I believe you're referencing to the episode in season 1 that I'm referencing where he said people were either all aboard or jumping ship at that point.
Got through season 1 on Friday-Saturday. Really really enjoyed it and love everything they did except Spoiler the losing memory and christian slater being his dead father and this being some big Fight Club thing now... hopefully there's not a ton of that in season 2. they didn't need it just unnecessary. and fuck them for killing shayla right when she was turning shit around. Loved her. Still love her The Tyrell scenes are great. Wasn't expecting chick's husband to go off on him like that and out-alpha the guy. Very well done
Comes back Wednesday at 10. One review I read said the season 3 premiere is one of the best episodes of the series.
No real idea where they're going but at the end of season 1 I gave up on trying to figure things out and just strapped myself in to enjoy the ride and it looks like it's going to be a good one.
God dammit. I love the show, but my simple brain can't comprehend all the levels to this shit. Has Angela always seen/talked to Elliot's dad? Completely confused on all that stage 2 shit. Now we have the guy (drove the taxi while they were tailed by the FBI) that works for the crossdressing asian man?
I've mostly kept away from the subreddit and theorizing this season and have just sat back and enjoyed but I did read some things that talked about this week's episode being a "one shot" style. That was damn well done and it enhanced the intensity of the episode.
If they pulled that off then that's insane. Link to where you read that? There are a lot of tricks to pulling off a "one shot" style (usually something passing in front of a camera to allow a cut) but if they somehow did that with just two shots... There's an after show thing they do and Esmail said someone on the subreddit had figured out the twist. I don't pay close enough attention to the sub this season to know if there's a theory on the same level as the prison one last season but from what I have seen there are a lot of different theories so it would be hard to know which one Esmail was referencing.
Luckily for you my RSS reader kept it in cache. https://www.theverge.com/2017/11/9/16627794/mr-robot-hack-report-s3e5-runtime-error Got the Thanksgiving week all off, starting next weekend so 9 straight days. I need to start season 3 back from the beginning. A lot of stuff going on and hard to keep up with it.
It was definitely a lot more than two shots, but the way they spliced it all together seamlessly was incredibly impressive. I loved the aerial shots going from room to room and then outside of the building. Wild to see a normal corporate office building turn into complete mayhem over the course of the episode.
It was Fincher-esque. Reminded me of some scenes in Fight Club. Which, now having said that, reminds me of the overall Mr. Robot/Fight Club similarities. 4-6. Esmail said during an interview as season 1 was airing that he knew the ending and it was 4-5 seasons away. So if he wasn't counting season 1 in that number because he had already completed it then it could be as many as 6 but, unless he changes a lot, it should be between 4-6.
Knew as soon as Angela and Darlene got the alerts on their phones that they hit all the other buildings. This season has been amazing. Loved Elliot's Back to the Future quote as he was trying to stop the NYC building from blowing up. "Why do we have to cut these things so damn close?" As someone who watched the entire BTTF trilogy probably once every other week or so when I was little the second he said those words I knew where they were from.
This season has been amazing. I didn't have a problem with last season, but they clearly pulled things together and have narrowed the vision in S3.
This is probably the first show since breaking bad that has been able to put me on that level of pins and needles/suspense during an episode.
Also I never thought we'd see a point where Angela is crazier than Elliot Thought the exact same thing when I watched it. Not even just the cold open, but the music/overhead shot of the car in the desert afterward.
Another unique but amazing episode for the season. Kinda let you take a breath after the last few were so intense. And this shot... Spoiler Also for anyone who wants to see what Trenton's whole e-mail said...
