Others can probably help for the south side of ATL, but check out Capital City off Howell Mill, Minks off Delk Rd, Tower Wine and Spirits off Piedmont and Local Vine near the new Braves stadium. They have quite a big selection of bourbons
If you’re coming down 75, stop in the Total Wine off Barrett Parkway in Kennesaw. Then stop by Mink’s on Delk road as was previously mentioned. I don’t know much around the downtown area, except Green’s Liquor Store. If you’re coming down 85, Mega Package Store in Suwanee.
These established distilleries like BT and HH are finally having some whiskey hit maturity from when they first started expanding and ramping up production a while ago. I was wondering how they’d be smart about not flooding the market and it seems like they’re going to handle it with some new labels, but also private picks of existing labels. Makes sense to me and if you live near a store that gets picks that’s a win for you.
Snagged a lot b today from the abc vault today. Also picked up our local group pick of 5yr old scout. Pretty tasty. Got some good rums as well this week. Oh and found out the group is doing a redwood empire 12 yr mgp finished in port barrels.
Lot b, orvw, m10 rye, w12, ETL, Blantons, Handy, Stagg, Stagg Jr, EC18, OE7, ER10 and ER10 abc pick, OWA, EHT SmB, Kentucky owl batch 8, 1792 full proof, and a makers mark abc pick. I think that’s it for today.
I won 2 2019 4R SMBLE last month. Decide to sell them since my wife had been out of work and needed the money. Someone offered a Lot B in trade. Hoping to try this one day
Of the whiskeys I’ve won in the past month, Lot B and Weller Single Barrel have been the most impressive.
Never saw anything posted they had them. But today some guy posted on fb. Was hoping you may have landed one. Keep an eye on that store. They get some good picks from time to time
I couldn't tell a difference between the Rock Hill Farms and ETL samples that NYGator sent me. They were both delicious.
Very close I agree, same mashbill if I had to guess. I think Buffalo Trace only has 3 or 4 mash bills and the rest comes down to aging and location. Lot B and Weller 12 are identical for example but the difference is Pappy gets the pick of honey barrels and Weller gets second pick
Anybody ever heard of Resilient Single Barrel? My local store has some and said he'll sell out in a day and that it is delicious. Made me intrigued. This is what the bottle looked like.
Got to have some Pappy 15 last night, probably a ten year old bottle. Just fantastic bourbon, perfect level of oak and sweetness. I want to hate it for the hype, but I can’t.
