I love Bones, but the Jon Jones we remember as GOAT hasn't made an appearance since... like 2018, and before that it was all stuff in 2013 and earlier for the most part. I bet an uncomfortable amount on Usman in the end, hate how I always end up doing this on UFC cards. But it worked this time.
That was a championship fight won by a jab from from both south paw and orthodox. Usman is nasty with Whitman.
Watching Usman fight Maia compared to tonight feels like it was 20 years ago now. Dude is night and day. Scary thing is, he's got ALOT of room to grow. Jab is sneaky like Rory Mac's. But was consistently getting off balance throwing combos which was causing him to get stung. Dude is an amazing fight rn, and he's going to get better. Wittman is some kind of savant with the work he has done with Usman so far.
I think Usman could easily beat Masvidal with the same strategy, but if he's determined to go for the finish/KO, that could be a fun fight
My best score was the 2nd optimal lineup, I had Muhammad instead of Gastelum. Of course it was a quarter jukebox entry
As unfortunate as it is, Covington has been Usman's stiffest challenge. The cards were split entering the 5th before the stoppage in the last minute. 39-37 Covington, 39-37 Usman, 38-38.
Colby is definitely (unfortunately) the most difficult challenge for Usman. But, Trevor Wittman trained Usman is a level nobody can beat.
“He stayed disciplined,” Burns said. “He’s not quick. He doesn’t hit that hard. But he’s friggin’ disciplined. And for me, it was the opposite. I got over excited, loaded up on my punches, and that was my mistake.” Burns is lucky the dude doesn't hit hard.. He might have killed him.
This won't even be a contest. I hope Belal gets paid enough to make it worth it. But I still don't understand why Edwards deserves a title shot. Hasn't fought since 2019 and it was against RDA.
