We’ve been terrible at keeping possession. Passing has been shit and Ndombele has been our only threat to advance the ball against pressure.
He’s the key to our team but he’s at least 10lbs overweight, constantly hurt, and will seemingly never play a full 90. Maybe Aulas knew what he was doing after all.
It's so strange that we can't defend against a high press and take advantage of the space afforded by a stretched team.
The problem with Eriksen playing so low is he can’t dribble and he can’t defend. His pass conversion rate isn’t so high either and he gets dispossessed pretty easily.
Aurier plays half the game from the ground. He can never be a good defender while having to slide tackle so often.
Great job FA having this nightmare run of games every year. Nothing better than running your best assets into the ground.
19 fouls from Southampton. It's hard to get any fluidity (that we wouldn't get anyways) when you're hacked down all game.
I mean it’s not unexpected. Everyone knows we’re going to be playing a ton of matches. But yet again we’re trying to get through an entire season with insufficient depth.
There as an insider on spurs chat who thinks we get Ferguson from WBA, Eze from QPR, and Koulibally. Just rumors, but all would be useful. We really need to find a Dembele replacement though, because I am convinced more than ever that we started sliding when he left and Wanyama was spent.
I mean, all those guys would help -- Koulibaly probably pushes for starts immediately. But, as you say, there's a huge problem at center midfield -- Spurs can't put 2 passes together right now
I must say that you're massively underrating the connection between Sanchez to Aurier, Aurier to Sanchez, Sanchez to Alderweireld, Alderweireld to Sanchez, ad nauseam.
Ferguson is 19 and is supposedly having a great year for WBA... https://totalfootballanalysis.com/p...019-20-scout-report-tactical-analysis-tactics Eze has scored a ton of goals from Attacking Midfield for QPR. He is also 21. Both can be had for very reasonable prices and I think both would also be considered homegrown so may help us unload guys like Rose https://www.footballwhispers.com/blog/eberechi-eze-scout-report
I'd go full rotation on this upcoming Liverpool match and let all of our academy players enjoy some minutes. On the other hand, we've survived without Kane before and Son's suspension is over, I believe.
Wouldn't consider it breaking news. Looked like a pulled hammy, 4-6 weeks is par for the course even if it's mild
