When Warren is the nominee, people are going to be whining about increasing taxes on the super rich because socialism What drives the dumbasses to care about people who have so much money they can buy anything they want more than people who are struggling to pay for a simple surgery?
The incorrect assumption that they’re in (or will be in someday) the tax bracket that would pay more for this type of service. Plus the assumption that the people who would benefit from said service are of mostly different colors.
When everyone who is old enough to remember "the specter of communism" is dead maybe we can move forward. The inability to separate communism and socialism is going to kill us all.
This isn't exactly correct as Jimmy Carter is going to outlive Trump. Spoiler Yes, I know I quoted myself
But extremely poor whites feel the same way. Hopefully we get a president Warren with a senate majority who will force feed them a better life, but it will never make sense. I visited one of my uncles this summer. He's very well off because he was drafted in Vietnam, but rather than get shipped out he was sent to school. He was trained as an electrician and got sent to all sorts of cushy places during that war. He ended up in the first desert storm and worked on power plants. Got out after than and made a fortune with the skills taxpayers taught him working in private industry. Now he hates democrats because of fox news buzz words and socialism while his only kid doesn't have a job and lives off his mom and her husband and my uncle. We avoid politics when we visit him. Blows mind how otherwise smart people can't make simple connections.
Besides the FOX brainwashing, much of what you said can be connected to two things 1) the perception that the people willing to take “handouts” are people of color and 2) the concept of “I can hire one half of the poor to kill the other half.” People have a hard time getting past the micro and looking at the macro. It’s the same reason why pro sports fans side with ownership over players in labor disputes and why college sports fans side with coaches and universities over athletes.
I love (and by that I mean hate and can't understand) when military people say they hate socialism when they are 1) paid to attend a trade school 2) get free college money on top of that 3) get free health care while employed 4) get untaxed allowances for housing and food
Reagan can fuck off. Hope his legacy is shit on. The PATCO/Air Traffic strike is a great example of people directly voting against their self interest
He was a piece of shit. He's directly responsible for the state of our divided nation repealing the fairness doctrine
Fuck em. I hope the train runs over the camp and kills them all. https://www.cnn.com/2019/08/02/us/kentucky-blackjewel-coal-miners/index.html
It’s ironic when anyone who remembers the Cold War has no issue with Russians meddling in our elections.
Please help us continue our shitty job for a shrinking industry that’s poisoning the environment and also taking us to an early grave....because my pappy and grandpappy were losers enough to do it as well
So will I have to get a referral from my doctor to get my new Chevy and will we only be limited to just Chevy?
I edited this because I assume this is personal info and we'll probably sidestep all that. If he runs for office we'll start a TMB Pac though. but yikes D is the kind of conservative lawyer and policy mind that Republican primary voters wish was behind every state policy initiative. He’s a former staffer at the Alabama Policy Institute who’s now taken his talents into the public sector for one of the state’s most powerful politicians.
What’s wrong with posting info of public servants? He’s already edited most of his N words off of tmb anyways
swim regularly dropping the n-word while writing papers for a think tank about why Alabama shouldn't expand medicaid coverage is republicanism in a sentence
Anybody that worked in the Alabama state legislature to pass that anti-abortion bill should be permanently unemployable. You’re a piece of shit, je ne suis pas ici
