Like, DVH has built our program to where it is and has made Arkansas baseball what it is… he’s got us so far and we have come so close so many times, but part of me thinks he may never get one. He’s had how many chances? Shame for the man really but I’m starting to think, he just won’t ever get the big one at this point. Hope I eat crow but history is against him at this point.
Martin made it like 16 times or some shit and never won one. It’s incredibly hard to win one with how weird baseball is. Look at Miss State last year, Ole Miss this year, and countless others. Just have to get hot at the right time. I still have confidence we will break through with the talent we recruit and how well we work the portal. Starting pitching was a big issue and losing Pallette killed all hope. Happy we are competing like we are when we’ve shuffled our rotation like 2 weeks before the CWS. That’s not a recipe for success.
Valid points. I just think that maybe that pop-fly was our closest shot and we blew it and we may never have that opportunity back.
Right now, I just don’t know how you stop Ole Miss’s offense. Oklahoma might be the only team that has the starting pitching to match up with them. Just not sure if they can line it up right. That also might be Ole Miss’s issue in the championship series, lining up their starting pitching to get both DeLucia and Elliott to throw a game in that final series.
Yeah, that was kinda head scratching. Hagen or McEntire seemed like better starting options. I know Hagen has been good out of the pen lately, abut I’m not sure I get the bullpen strategy for tonight when DVH had perfectly good starting options to choose from. I assume we will see McEntire start tomorrow and Evan Taylor, Tygart, and Hagen Smoth as first guys out of the pen. Vermillion too depending on the situation.
Yeah I don’t get it Hogs were probably not winning it all this year anyway. Has been a fun ride last two weeks
Also I think van horn is the only person in America who thought ramage might pitch and inning and not give up multiple runs
His loyalty to Ramage is beyond frustrating. It’s why his players love him, but it’s also a curse most of the time. Experience is great and all, but when you’ve shit down your leg your entire career sometimes it’s just not in the cards. Call a spade a spade and give the younger guys a shot because they haven’t blown dozens and dozens of opportunities to hang in or win games like he has. Would have rather seen Zeb tonight in that situation.
Nope - my city was nice enough to move my 9am Monday inspection to Tuesday (notified of this on Monday morning btw) and completely boned me from going. I'll be there this weekend though.
