If Tennessee St. decides it is feasible, it would be cool if this leads to other schools to look into it. Particularly schools like Howard and NC Central, since they could work out a relationship with the Capitals and Hurricanes in a similar fashion to TSU and the Predators. If this goes through, I would also think that this would provide some hope for Alabama Huntsville, since they got left out of the CCHA reorganization and subsequently suspended their program for the upcoming season. It would be pretty logical for those two programs (and maybe throw in Lindenwood in the St. Louis area when they join D1 in 2022-23) to link up.
Augustana in South Dakota announced they were planning on creating a Division 1 hockey team. Sanford is hellbent on getting that school into Division 1, even if none of the surrounding Dakota schools have any interest whatsoever in that occurring..
Four top ten picks from this draft will likely be on the roster next season and we still won’t win a title because none of them are 24 year olds from Bumfuck, Alberta.
My buddy who is an NHL team rep for CCM told me that he’s convinced NLI means that kids who play in the CHL will be eligible for college hockey, he just isn’t sure when it’ll happen.
More is arriving next year too, most the b1g(UM, ND, Wiscy, and Minny) is recruiting at a crazy level. Everyone likes to make fun of league but its starting to have some crazy recruiting pull.
This whole story is infuriating. A drunk 51 year old guy meets kids at a bar and invites them home. Then shows off his Bentley by driving 100 on a narrow curvy 40 mph road (and nobody has any business driving that speed on that road in daylight while sober). https://m.startribune.com/orono-man...ke-minnetonka-kills-two-passengers/600082510/ I feel so terrible for Bob’s daughter to walk up to the scene where she sees paramedics working on her brother and boyfriend. I mean fuck.
UND just announced another destination game in Las Vegas. So UND vs. Penn State in Nashville this October 30th and UND vs. Arizona State next October 29th in Vegas at T-Mobile.
Well this sucks. Per multiple sources, the San Jose Sharks are expected to sign UND forward Jasper Weatherby after his performance in last week's development camp in San Jose. Weatherby will become the eighth player from last year's UND team to sign an NHL deal:
Things continuing to get silly in ann arbor Mel going coach k on college hockey, be interesting to see how this pans out
Granato has good talent coming in the next classes. Last year was a good start, this year we should be more balanced up and down. Michigan going to be a wagon this year.
The Gophers series against against Alaska has been postponed until January due to COVID issues for the Nanooks.
How many division one hockey programs are there? Seems liking being ranked isn’t the biggest of deals.
I think 60 so ranking to 20 isn’t a great accomplishment (especially when post season is only 16). Although 4 of the top 5 bring from one state of impressive.
Michigan, Minnesota State, Duluth and Providence are playing in that tournament this weekend. Should be fun.
Gophers lost 2-1 Friday night and sort of won Saturday against SCSU. A horrendous non-call in OT led to a Gophers goal. I’m assuming Michigan will be the new #1 on Monday.
#4Minnesota & #5 UMD with a home/home #6 UND @ #7 Quinnipiac #8 Denver @ #12 Providence Wisconsin @ #3 SCSU
