Happens every year. Vegas knows the Husker fans will bet whatever so might as well offer 14/1 instead of 1400/1. They’ll make the same money and way less liability.
I can only assume this was part of the plan and long term vision Scott presented to Trev. Or did ole Chubba scare him away after his spring game performance (insert stats from Spring Game I didn’t watch)?!?!?!?
Weren't actually even trying to get his signature. We're just getting a jump on his transfer portal recruitment
P sure we never even offered but just told the media we did as a favor to his pops so lesser programs would give him a chance.
I still have my 308 number (til I DIE) and the amount of texts I've gotten about these primaries is absurd
From what I’m told the best candidate just released a video being pro-life and it doesn’t matter the circumstances. What a fucking joke.
Lindstrom seems to be the most moderate and lesser of all the evils, but who the hell knows. It will be really interesting to see how Herbster does and find out how many batshit crazy people we actually have in the state right now.
That’s the thing, I told my wife this morning, ‘just a heads up, we are moving back to a state where the least evil guy that will be governor just put out a spot saying it’s pro-life no matter what.’ ‘Wait, did you say the ‘least’ shitty one?’ ‘Yes.’ When I get the obvious question when I move back, ‘how does it feel to spend less on a house?!?’ I’m going to respond, ‘I saved 100k! and my wife’s uterus was the collateral to seal the deal!’
Moving out of state really opened my eyes. People I thought were liberal in Nebraska turned out to be nothing close to it
Conservative people are generally batshit fascists, moderates are conservatives from a time long gone, and liberals are moderates. I’m a pinko fucking commie compared to almost everyone and I have to mostly hide it because being a lefty will make you a social pariah most places. I also get politically earraped by idiots pretty consistently because I check a ton of chud boxes so they assume they’re in friendly company.
I am always keenly aware that would-be political allies are probably assuming I'm a chud when they see me based on safe demographic assumptions. Feels bad man.
Growing up in West Omaha and graduating from UNL I basically was conditioned to believe democrats don’t really exist they are just a formality in the two party system.
My grandmother was an FDR dem and fucking hated modern day republicans until the day she died. Every time I talked to her she brought up how much Trump was a piece of shit. Loved that woman.
Same w my Grandpa. “People don’t want to pay taxes tell them to stop driving on our roads!” My parents weren’t really political though so I didn’t have to deal with them trying to indoctrinate me with conservatism which is a god send. So many people I know in Nebraska never stood a chance.
same with my grandparents. strong democrats until the end, fortunately they never got to experience Trump or I think my grandpa would have stroked out. Nebraska used to be, while still conservative, somewhat more moderate and independent minded than other red states. Shit Ben Nelson served as a governor and senator for like 25 years with a D behind his name. With the proliferation of Trump and 24 hour Fox News, as well as the boomer generation being what they are, it's essentially inconceivable that a D could win a statewide office in Nebraska right now. At least not until some more rural flight happens and Omaha and Lincoln just start deciding every election.
Some little kid just pulled out in front of me on his bike while staring at his phone. Couldn’t have been more than 8 or 9. Had to basically slam on my brakes. The little shit never looked up, eyes glued to the screen in his hand, just kept on riding. This country is truly fucked.
I got sucked in after I said I wouldn’t. Pillen beating Trump/Herbster is Ohio St -42.5 with a final of OSU 42 - GBR 0. Embarrassed like always but covered!
I was blown away by the fact that the Nebraska Dems just didn't fucking run anyone for any state positions. Democratic party is a huge joke everywhere but nowhere more than the Nebraska branch
Yeah as frustrating as republicans are, and how dumb they have become, it's just terrible that at some point the democratic party just stopped fighting for them. Ol grmp$krt out Wakefield way was third generation farmer out there buckin hay and performing fieldsmans at sun up his whole life. Democrat as the come. You know, the democratic farm and labor party. Most of his family and neighbors were too. Back at a tim when rural folks actually voted for what was in their best interests, and not just what they're most culturally butthurt about. Now we're living in a rad time where the entire state's red as a baboon's ass despite the fact that the majority of people actually want things like single payer healthcare. But hey, at least we'll keep the devil's CRT out of DONU!
Being mostly isolated and watching Fox News all day has brainfucked so much of the state. When you don’t see that many people most days and the ones you do look exactly like you it’s easy to other everyone that’s not like you. I’ve legit heard people from tiny white rural towns worry about the implementation of sharia law.
It’s weird because my bubble is so blue and progressive I’m always in awe when I meet a Trumpist. Two people at work who are “single-issue voters” and they’re a strange pair of people.
Small town Nebraska in a nut shell. Misinformation and branding have made so many completely void of the reality around them. I got made fun of in Osmond for drinking an omaha-branded beer instead of a Bud product. ‘Sorry, I’m supporting local, is that wrong?’ ‘herp, derp, Bud and America.’ ‘you do realize that the beer you are drinking is owned by a Belgium company at this point. Do you buy your beef from Argentina too? Why am I who you target for buying ‘local’ beer?’ conversation ended quickly but didn’t change the belief of the person I proclaimed it to.
