Do the snap, but instead of turning the dust, everyone melts like the Ark of the Covenant was just opened
I remember going to see Iron Man in 2007 on a double date. Driving home I told everyone “I was talking to my brother and he was saying if this movie is a hit they’re planning on doing Thor and Hulk and Captain America then the Avengers over the next 4 years.” My friends now wife scuffed, “there’s no way they’re planning movies that far out.” They’re still married, she’s still a bitch.
Watching the Endgame featurettes. First one, Stan Lee, ultimate icon. Second one, Tony Stark, the beginning and ending of the MCU so far. Third one, Captain America, who Feige says is “the backbone of the MCU.” So I ask you Marvel Thread. After Stan who is more important? Cap or Tony?
There’s been 20+ MCU movies and I’ve yet to get a Hemsworth v Evans arm wrestling scene. That’s shit.
I amazed that you had such connections to see it 1 year before it actually released. Must’ve been tough to watch with all the pre-production work not finished.
HEY! I’m watching all the Endgame Featurettes and they def put 07 as the date, I’d assume their memory is better than mine.
MCU’s got me too emotional right now. Gotta put on the “Spider-kid” AKA “Miles” AKA “Coolest Spider-man.”
My philosophy was “I mean yeah they’re gonna do an [insert character here] movie, but c’mon it’s not like it’ll be any good”
Phase 1 had a lot of duds in between IM1 and Avengers 1 Phase 2 might have had worse duds, the machine didn't really get rolling until after Age of Ultron.
Phase 1 was still mind blowing compared to previous efforts in the genre All a matter of perspective in the moment, I suppose
IM1 and Avengers were groundbreaking good, Thor 1 and Cap 1 while good to okay still felt cookie cutter like the standard superhero movie and Hulk was basically a paint by numbers superhero movie that stood out only in how bland it was.
Dr. Abraham Erskine is good, and Stanley Tucci really does bring him to life....but the best character in the MCU? Hardly
Phase 2 had Winter Soldier and GotG before AoU. One could argue those are the two best movies in the entire MCU and not be wrong (I wouldn't say that, but they're certainly in the conversation).
I was in Los Angeles for work this week. Flew out and watched Endgame. So good. Flew back on a red eye last night, watched Endgame again. Y’all, I started tearing up when Tony died. Wtf. As I’m drinking vodka club sodas.
They should have kept that deleted scene of the rest of the Avengers kneeling in front of Tony as he died in the movie. Tony Stark, and mores specifically RDJ deserved to be put on that pedestal for what he did for both the on screen world and the MCU as a whole.
Russos said in the AMA they removed it because it felt redundant with the funeral, which they liked better.
I saw that and it was cringe worthy. The kneeling just comes out of no where and doesn’t flow well with the ending of the film. And yes, having them kneel, then a big funeral is too much.
