I thought 1 and 2 were close but all 3 judges gave both to Glover, so yea he was likely 28 seconds away from defending bc he was probably winning the 5th.
How much time are those dudes going to need off after that? Guessing they’ll both be in a hospital within an hour
Jiri escaping those ground positions early in the fight was bonkers. That’s basically lights out for everyone that faces Glover.
As one of the worlds biggest Leon stans they really have to put that on a card when I’m stuck at my cousins wedding in bum fuck Ohio?
I think it’s my job now just to give you shit about Leon since you ride so hard. I have no issue with Leon. Would love to see him knock off Kamaru.
probably. Glover losing after he said he was probably only fighting one more time isn’t going to help his case for an automatic rematch. Dana can’t be excited about another potential interim belt
Saw a tweet where Leon said on Ariel’s show he’d give Masvidal the first title shot if he beats Usman he would luck into that shot coming off three losses
Yeah I understand the back story will bring ratings I guess, but it's just crazy that Jorge could still potentially wind up with the belt if things go his way in August. At this point he just can't afford to lose again. Im guessing he doesn't take that Gilbert Burns fight anymore.
I don’t know about that. Diaz nearly knocked him out in the fifth round. If he’s that susceptible, Jorge could absolutely finish the job.
DC was literally the LHW Champ while Jones was doing roids, hid from a USADA drug test, crashing into pregnant women fucked up, and beating his wife. 2nd greatest talent the sport has ever seen (after Khabib), but a piece of shit that has become an extremely boring fighter as well. Although becoming a boring fighter over time is a Jackson/Winklejohn staple, and that gym has lost a lot of talent. Majority agree he should’ve lost the decision to Reyes, and needed a split decision win to beat Santos after Santos tore his ACL, MCL, PCL, and Meniscus in R1.
All this is why I think Francis would murder him and he’s not really serious about fighting an apex predator at HW.
Gotta disagree with you there chief. I hate Jones for all the reasons you listed above but he is the best the sport has ever seen. He ran through an absolute murderer's row* and cleaned out the deepest and most competitive division in the sport at the time in a way that I don't think we'll ever see again. Spoiler Ryan Bader, Shogun Rua, Rampage Jackson, Rashad Evans, Lyoto Machida, Vitor Belfot, Chael Sonnen, Alexander Gustafsson, Glover Texiera, Daniel Cormier. 10-0, 6 finishes in a 4 year run. Absolutely mental
Remember seeing this evil billy goat looking mfer beat up on some guy like 3-5 years ago and thought he was absolutely terrifying and awesome. Then I never saw him fight again :(
