Heard a rumor a few weeks ago that Five in Lakeview was closing. Now it sounds like St Vincent's is buying that corner and is going to build a fucking parking deck?
This is how it starts. Next thing they convert Innisfree into a leasing office and Slice into a Kinnucans.
Hopefully everyone is prepared to vote the septuagenarian alcoholic stroke patient out of Montgomery tomorrow
yes pls go vote tomorrow, though i have virtually zero confidence that any of the state-wide races will turn the way i'd like if you'd like a good reason to vote our POS secretary of state out of office, here's how he interacted with my buddy on social media earlier this year:
are there any decent alabama pollsters that provide some depiction of state-wide races? or are we just beholden to when the national media pays attention enough to do their own polling (i.e. the jones race)?
There's a lot of internal polling, but you're not going to have that many unaffiliated polls because they're expensive and there's not really anybody who wants to pay for them.
Definitely has my vote but I'd be absolutely shocked if Siegelman wins this one. He's going to be around the Alabama political landscape for many years to come though.
I haven't lived in Alabama for 5 years, but am still registered to vote in the county where my parents live. Given that I'm moving back soon and looking forward to bringing with me my new fangled left wing ideas, I sent for an absentee ballot. Ballot is filled out, but the affidavit requires me to affirm that I am a "resident" of the county in which my parents live. This gave me pause and I decided I'd rather not commit fraud even though there are multiple legally sound factors indicating I am a "resident" of my parents' county.
as i said in the election thread, love this city and yet hate this state so much at the same time the amendments are so goddamn embarrassing
Two things I hate about where I live -- the weather and the politics. And sometimes I feel like I'd have a better chance of changing the weather.
I doubt it. Just my daily driver 2004 Chevy 3500 dually pumping unfiltered Duramax diesel exhaust out of the stacks as I roll coal on all the libcuck Priuses I pass.
I’m a sucker for Ford Fry places in general. Love the Optimist, hope he brings some of that with him.
Beetlecat is my favorite. Speaking of seafood, what’s the dress code for Hot & Hot? Going for the first time this weekend, and couldn’t be more excited.
You could pull off nice jeans and a sport jacket but slacks/khakis and jacket will probably be the majority of folks there.
Met them at a mutual friend’s gathering, they’re good people. Pulling for them and look forward to patronizing Automatic.
I went to school with his wife from 5-6 grade through high school. She’s a cool chick. I think I met him over the holidays a few years ago but can’t really remember. Hope they do well.
I got in a twitter fight with him about six years ago over global warming. How’s my dick taste now, Prater?
He’s a guy a know somewhat well. He’s had a rough patch the past year or two. Maybe by his own doing, not really sure. I’m hoping whatever he did was not as serious as this looks. Prayers to him, his family, and the accuser.
Has anyone done a home energy audit with Alabama power? If so how much did it cost? Overall experience?
One of the food delivery apps/services needs to add Rojo. My first night in town a few weeks ago (and after packing/unpacking boxes for 6 days straight), I tried to get Rojo delivered. I had craved their paella for literally years (since I had it last), and I cannot begin to describe how crushed I was when I was unable to find it on ~5 different food deliver apps.
