Didn't see anything on first page so making a thread. So, ummm... holy shit it's actually really fucking good. Loved the campaign and got some tangible progression after just a couple matches. Anyone else pick it up? Thoughts.
I don't know if the population numbers are as poor on PS4 but on PC there are just over 10k at peak hours and on X1 just over 30k. I'd have to guess it's better on PS4 because they didn't have the first one and there are just more PS4's in the world. Regardless the game isn't even close to as good as the first one. I don't know why they made all the changes they did but other than arc cannon not being in the game I can't think of one that improved upon the first game. The maps are an absolute disgrace compared to the maps from Titanfall 1. Once people get a taste of Angel City (not sure when that becomes available in Titanfall 2) they'll see why people who played the first one are so disappointed with the sequel's maps.
Yes buy it. It's extremely polished, the campaign is pretty damn good and all additional DLC will be free.
If you liked the first one I'd skip it. I didn't buy it. I game share with a friend and he bought it for campaign and we haven't had much else to play so we've played it a good bit. The worst part for me is the maps just don't fit Titanfall as well as the ones from the first game did. The first game's maps were designed so well for both 6v6 titan combat and the incredible pilot moment people could do after a lot of practice. These maps are just bottlenecks after bottlenecks. There are some very obvious things (ie. map hack which instead of being a burn card is now just a "boost" that any player who equips will earn at some point in every single match and not only does it show people on the map as the burn card did in TF1 - it also shows people through walls...) that never should have made it into "final" build of the game as they did.
Then you should know better than anyone that the final product can't be judged in the first week. They've got plenty of time to buff and nerf things. Plus all of their DLC will be free, which I'm sure will add other Pilot types and unlocks as well as some of the old maps.
do you have them because they aren't three lane? or because the movement doesn't flow right? they might all be three lane, i have only played the beta so i don't know. just curious. i know we have differing opinions on three lane maps.
It's a lack of verticality and size. The maps are somehow both smaller and more open and they've added things that make it very rewarding to not move as much.
Yeah, I really don't get it. I know people were saying that chunks of Respawn were assigned to help with Battlefront 2 for EA so maybe some of the guys who put the maps together for TF1 were lost in that reassignment? I have no idea. I'd say most of the maps are half the size of most TF1 maps and some are even smaller.
I was really hoping this game was split screen so I could play mp offline. What happened to those days.
Sell me on it I really enjoyed the first one but not to the extent that it could ever be my go to fps. I played the beta for this and was very bad at it.
I've only played the multiplayer so that's all I can sell. It's as fluid and responsive a shooter as I've ever played and when everyone is bouncing around and using gunplay to their advantage it can be quite intense and a lot of fun. After playing it past where posted earlier I've noticed this game does have awful balance issues. There's certain abilities that just should not exist or should certainly be nerfed to unrecognizable. A shield that takes no damage that wraps around the player that the shield deployer can fire through, a turret that has an insane amount of health that can also down a toon in two or three shots. A map jammer skill that is basically (get this shit) a counter uav, an orbital VSAT or Blackbird (if your familiar with those from CoD) and exposes enemies with outlines through walls, and, can be used several times a game. Also I dislike how the game devolves into full out mech warfare at a point in every game and in general doesn't subside. Sold?
I'll get off Witcher 3 a bit. If anyone's down to play and I'm on I'll play. I'll prob be a bit rusty since TF is super fast paced
Anybody still playing this? It was on sale for $10 this weekend so I picked it up. I’m really enjoying the campaign. I’m sure I’ll get wrecked once I jump online.
