Well with him it does for sure. The OL grades aren't perfect for us, but it's much, much better than last year. Good sign considering we are starting two rookies. I'm not worried about Jackson and I think he's done fine. The kid is 21 and he's played fine IMO- I expected a rough year for him in his first season. LT is a really hard position for a kid that young to play... Tunsil graded out at 64.5 his rookie year and it wasn't until his third year that he started making a pretty big jump as far as his rankings are concerned. One thing to note about the grading- our guys are being dinged a lot for run blocking. Maybe some of that is on the RB? Now that we've seemingly found our RB1 for the season, maybe those grades make a jump. Here are our grades through 3 games:
Seems like our biggest needs are: On D: Pass rush help- Van Noy has been good in this area but not much help. Much better last night though LB- Might be time to move on from Baker or bring in competition S- Rowe is a nice depth guy but really not a guy we want starting. On O: Add some pass catching weapons to help Gesicki and Parker. I feel like Albert Wilson would have helped this offense a lot as he's the only one that really has breakaway speed. I feel like it's time to move on from Grant or bring someone in to beat him out RB1 or RB2- just some depth in general. Not much behind Gaskin Maybe a C depending on what we do with Karras' contract
a 19 second touchdown drive at the end of the half.. that's fucking pathetic and people need to be benched for that shit.
there was literally nobody underneath on that play. why the fuck are you releasing Moore on that play. I hate overreacting on players, but for a 1st round pick, he looks completely fucking lost anytime he has to make a decision in coverage.
welp. 1-3 got the niners next week which is almost certainly 1-4. Got to be Tua time sooner rather than later.
everything about that 3rd down play was a joke. clear delay of game, clearly short, first down, game over. WTF
The team is better but frustrating loss. We really need Jones back... Iggy isn’t ready. Flores has to be more aggressive with the offense. Can’t be so conservative and beat really good teams
He's pretty dang good. Nice modern back too, very good as a receiver as well as a powerful runner. Doesn't have the breakaway speed of some of our past backs though, but that's a minor ding. I still am against ever using a first round pick on a back
I feel like I can come around on a RB at the end of the first if we traded back. First round gives you an extra year of control which is especially nice for RBs. Generally speaking it's kind of a thing where other positions that thin out faster in the draft seem like better priorities there.
