not only do you have to question the veracity of that information, but the motive for a privately held casino to voluntarily pass along info like that to a 3rd party whose sole purpose is to relay it to the general public.
I hope this thread stays active because I love Athens and that thread got archived. Congrats again, dudes. Watched the game with two of my best Georgia friends and there was nothing but love. Y’all deserved it this year. Hell of a team.
I said on our team board I feel like Bama has to be a massive favorite next year. They would be far and away my preseason #1.
If we can get the OL figured out, we’ll be in good shape but you never know. It’s pretty hard seeing any team outside of OSU really challenging either of us in the next few years, and tbh I’m not sure they have it in them, either.
Don't think anyone in B1G will be able play them with any consistency because of their talent level but you prob could have said that this year. I'm not sure what to think of them going forward tbh.
I don't think they had any business losing to Michigan but they got straight up bullied by them. May be a one off but that was very strange
it was not a one off, they also got bullied on defense by Utah, that’s why they are changing all their staff
Their DL recruiting, actually Front 7 recruiting, has just not been up to par. Remember watching Game 1 against Minnesota, seeing Antwan Jackson for them, and thinking they are in deep shit if they ever had to play us. Also, their most athletic Linebacker is a former RB from Ga Private School classification. Red Flags everywhere. They also got a lot of deference from the recruiting sites on some of their Defensive recruits, didnt seem earned by Ryan Day's staff. So that all has to change. Seems like they are going to keep their DL coach as a lameduck rather than start rebuilding their defense. I do think they have OL talent, at least this year, to compete. No clue what their OL projects like next few years.
Ryan Day is going to have to figure out where to turn to in recruiting, geographically. Places they have lived off of to supplement where Ohio has been lacking, are getting firmed up. And the talent pool in the midwest is not improving. Lesser extent it applies to Georgia and Alabama. Will be interesting.
The Oregon game is another curious one to me. Never led and Oregon controlled the game from start to finish, at Ohio State. Those would be concerning games for me
Awesome. I actually contacted Ticketmaster yesterday about this and they said the CFP site would be doing something.
The 2nd half was the sexy half and had the scoring but the defense in the 1st half was ridiculous. Both defenses were flying around and bullying. I'm sure the average fan was bored but man that was impressive.

A lot of this is accurate but let me clean up a few things. The biggest issue we've had the last two years has been around poor coordination and coaching on defense. In 2020, we were stacked with talent in the front seven while we were replacing four starters in the secondary and getting adjusted to a covid shortened season. Kerry Coombs was running the defense and he's just bad at scheming and that got exposed a couple times but especially against bama. In 2021, we were replacing our top 4 lbs and Coombs was even worse. We also were incredibly young on defense this year. We had a couple of upper class men leave midseason. If you watch the Oregon game, we were beat by presnap alignment a hilarious amount of the time, it was incredibly bad. It got a little better once Coombs was demoted and we tried to change our scheme mid season but was still pretty bad. We were able to get by until Michigan. We feel good about the talent we have across the board but we're going to be implementing yet another defense with a whole new defensive staff except for LJ Sr. Hopefully there will be alignment and the scheme will be clear but that remains to be seen. If we have even an average defense we should be back in the playoffs butting heads against you guys and bama etc. Our OL should be very good next year but there's not a ton of depth there.
Just curious saw folks speculating JTD and Beck could go to the portal. Does that mean people are expecting the dude from I think Watkinsville to get a shot?
What is Smith’s projection right now, 3rd round? I could see him working his way into the first if he stayed and showed out, the other two should go though. Seems like Quay’s been around forever.
I haven’t seen. Chris Smith announced he’s coming back today and Nolan is supposedly leaning towards coming back. I could see Quay maybe staying but I think Tindall is gone.
good article from catbird https://247sports.com/college/georgia/Article/Dead-period-is-over-in-recruiting-180592559/
Quay seems like one of those guys who probably isn’t going to raise his stock much, if any, with another year. Might come down to whether he’s got his degree already or not.
we haven't gotten too caught up in it tbh Kirby is recruiting/evaluating/developing defenders better than anyone else in College Football. The defense will be fine. And 2022 is all Bama's year. Just a matter of building towards 2023.
I wanted to get little Ojulari in the portal but that may not happen. We will need an Edge player imo. Maybe a Safety at Cine's spot. Supposedly not going to take any transfers until Maymester. So too early to tell.
