Have one play left-center and one play right-center. Have a third guy play shallow outfield/up-the-middle 5th infielder. Revolutionize the game.
But the real answer is that there's no reason to trade either yet, unless the Braves are sure one won't pan out. You need to hope Markakis continues his second half tear so you can trade him in the offseason.
Neither hits well enough to hit 1/2 though. Really, those guys are more suited to hit toward the bottom of the order, especially Mallex. Ender's surge has been nice this year, but his walk rate will need to take another step if we're going to really talk about him as a table-setter, and he also has massive platoon split issues. It's an interesting question. Putting a lot of pressure on finding power bats elsewhere if you're fielding a lineup with Mallex, Ender, Ozzie and Dansby. It's doable, and Freeman is a nice starting point, but above-average power is tough to come by.
This is great in theory but where will Dansby and Ozzie hit? Dansby is said to be the prototypical #2 hitter and Ozzie is gonna have an insane OBP IMO. Oh, and the fact that we need to somehow find power hitters for RF and C without overpaying
Put Mallex at 7, Albie's at 8, Dansby 2. The goal is to get on base and score runs..I don't give a shit how it happens
I'm sold on the kid being an above-average regular for us in LF - .280/.340/.450, 15-18 HR, 70-80 RBI's...something like that. Ruiz I'm still not sure on - he's still young and had a much better year than last, but there's still not enough power and he can't hit lefties. Letting him develop in a platoon with Adonis might be an option. I get the feeling we fill the position externally, though. I think the Braves are ready to pivot on this rebuild next year.
The Jenkins is a starter thing needs to die. The only real question with him is if he is even a quality reliever at the MLB level. Guy has such bleh stuff.
Was always skeptical of him, despite his prospect hype. His K:BB rate as been dogshit. He's a AAAA guy.
"There were hot rumors just before this year's July 31 trade deadline that the Braves wanted McCann back to help sell tickets for their move to a new ballpark next season. Nothing happened, but look for this to get done after the season, although the Yankees surely will have to pay most of the remaining money and perhaps a $15 million club option for 2019, too, to get McCann to agree to a deal." http://www.nj.com/yankees/index.ssf/2016/08/brian_mccann_calls_yankees_kids_best_young_group_i.html Yeah, I think with all those young kids playing well means the Yankees are going to give in to what the Braves are looking for. There's going to be no room for him.
Bottom 8 down 6-5 with bases loaded and no outs. First pitch back from a long rain delay and Beckham GIDP
He's establishing plenty of value with his defensive versatility. Guy just need to hit a little and he's a nice asset.
We're just not ready to compete next year and I'm worried we're going to overpay a bunch of guys in order to try to do so. Besides sucking ass this year, we didn't have a single young player establish themselves as a big-leaguer. Folty is really close and maybe you can convince me he did. Everyone else? Mallex, Perez, and Gant got hurt. Wisler, Blair, and Jenkins sucked and got demoted. Banuelos got cut. Whalen had a nice year in the minors but has shitty stuff. It's starting to look like most of our talent is in Rome and below...which means this is going to take a while.
Yea the pitchers we traded for aren't giving me confidence they are going to work out. The all look at best no. 4 (being generous) or below starters.
Hell, I would have taken that. Wisler, Blair, etc. couldn't even look like 4's. Teheran and Folty are the only guys you can pencil into next year's rotation. We have at least three rotation spots to fill.
Even if Blair and Wisler aren't MLB guys, I want to find that out at the MLB level while we still have a few games left in 2016. I'd rather watch them get shelled than journeyman arms and guys like Jenkins, who we've established unequivocally sucks.
Hello I'm at the game. You can spot me and qurl directly beside the pool on TV. There's basically just the two of us with a couple of randos sprinkled.
Anyone else notice anything wrong with this bobble head? Spoiler left handed swing with right handed helmet
Kevin McAlpin @KevinMcAlpin 9h9 hours ago Dansby Swanson singles up the middle to start the 8th. He's 2-for-4 and has registered a multi-hit game in 3 of his first 6 Big League games Kevin McAlpin @KevinMcAlpin 8h8 hours ago Since joining the #Braves on August 2nd, Matt Kemp has 7 doubles, 2 homers and 12 RBI in 21 games. @680_The_Fan
Is Swanson supposed to be better than Albies in the field? I know its a small sample size, but so far I'm not all that impressed by his glove. Love what I've seen from him at the plate, though
Three-way deal: Braves get: Minor league SS Dylan Moore (From TX) Rangers get: INTL slot money (2 slots from MIA, 1 from ATL) Marlins get: Jeff Francoeur

Hope y'all are watching tonight.. Dansby is a fucking stud. He's got a hit, a stolen base and just made a ridiculous play at short. Also, Freddie attempted to commit suicide by flipping over the fence.
