Take her to the vet. In my limited experience, it sounds like what happened when our old dog had a seizure. Though his wouldn't last too long. Probably worth at least calling your vet and asking if they should see her.
paige's right eye has a bunch of green crud and gunk. she doesn't seem to be in any pain. just have to wipe it off pretty regularly for the last day or so is this something that i should just wipe it away with a warm washcloth or does she need it checked out?
allergies I bet. Rowdy makes this stuff by the gallon in the Spring. if her eyes start getting red I may have it checked out.
This was happening to Connor. Took him to the vet and they just gave me some ointment to put around his eye. Didn't really help much so I quit using it and eventually it just went away.
Scarlet usually get some gunk in her eye every couple days, but the last 2-3 weeks it has been several times a day. Looks like the usual stuff just more frequently. Like dawgonit said, i'd keep an eye on it for redness or if she starts scratching at it, that's what I've been doing with Scarlet.
My boss told me to take the afternoon off because it was so slow. I gladly obliged and took Rory on a nice long hike
I couldn't care less what other people name their dogs. I'm guessing he won't be intercepting many things that you pass between yourself and guests at your place This thread doesn't need anyone fagging it up
Went on the Browns Landing trail this morning and ended up on a mountainside overlooking the southeastern edges of Medicine Bow National Forest with Curt Gowdy State Park in the distance. As you can tell by Rory's ears, it was really windy this morning
Murphy is black at night so I was trying to find a gorilla costume so he could be Harambe for Halloween. No one makes one. He's going to be a crocodile instead. Perfect for his nibbling habit.
http://nooga.com/174334/gruesome-animal-abuse-photo-sent-from-chattanooga-reward-offered/ Some real fucking pieces of shit in this world, and this one obviously hits close to home. There's a photo linked in that article that's brutal. Click with caution. Shit.
8 guys from Michigan were at a bachelor party in TN and found some pups they ended up taking in http://www.tennessean.com/story/new...-7-puppies-tennessee-bachelor-party/92846642/
I've posted it here before but its worth posting again for any newbies. This is the rescue group where I got Scarlet and one of our cats, they are all amazing people. I know and have worked with the owner, they are a fantastic set of people who give their hearts and souls to these animals every day. http://www.thepixelfund.org/available-dogs.html Please look at the list of adoptable dogs, if you or anyone you know is looking to adopt (they have cats too if you know those types of people), they have dogs being fostered in Maine, Florida and Georgia, and they can often do some transporting of the pets to their adoptive families if need be. If you can't adopt please consider donating. The wife and I donate supplies as often as we can, and they are always in need of something. Thanks y'all.
Was really dusty in here when I read this http://www.cbsnews.com/news/kind-stranger-helps-homeless-man-get-his-dog-back-from-the-pound/
Haven't posted in a while, but Jackson turned 2 last month. He is really an awesome dog. His only flaws are that he goes ape shit when he sees any sort of animal on the television, and he thinks he owns my bed.
Nymeria gave me a heart attack last night. She got so excited when I grabbed her leash that she jumped off one couch, right side of the other. Fell off it onto her back legs and started crying. Had to hold her and calm her down then put her muzzle on (in case she snapped) and move that leg around some to see if anything felt wrong or if she acted like it hurt. Thankfully I think she just aggravated it and scared herself. She was actually walking on it some this morning when I could make her slow down. Still scared the shit out of me when she started crying/screaming again. My buddy was on the phone with me when it happened and when he called him back he was all "wtf was that noise?".
Sophie, my lab mix, does not like our new neighbor. She barks at him every time he is outside. I feel bad, he seems nice and tries to come over to pet my dogs and Bullet is good but Sophie just loses her shit. She doesn't do that really with anyone else unless maybe once they catch her off guard, but every time he is in his yard she barks like crazy at him. I don't know what her deal is. Also my fiance wanted photos of them for our engagement pics....here is one of the two, newest photo of them (note my dogs are not that well trained, photographer photo shopped out their harnesses and my hand holding on to Sophie harness so she didn't run and chase nearby squirrels
True. He'll be 5 in December and this is only the second time Ive had to take him to the vet other than a checkup/vaccines. First time was when he was a pup. Can't complain too much. He's been an extremely healthy dog. I just wonder where he picked it up from. Could be anywhere, I guess. I just feel bad for him. Started on Friday and he was coughing so hard he was making himself throw up. :( It's gotten a lot better today but it was scary for a bit.
Kennel cough usually passes without incident, it just blows because it is so contagious. One lady brought her dog in for boarding without disclosing they had just been to the vet for kennel cough, she was like "yeah he's fine to play with the others." Noticed how much he was coughing about 30 min later and pulled him out, 5 other dogs got sick the next day. She wasn't allowed back.
Well just heard I lost my dog from childhood. About as bad of a feeling as I could have ever imagined. How long is it before you get over it?
I appreciate it. This was the first dog we had that was able to stick around and everyone grew attached to. I bawled like a baby 8 years ago when I thought we had to get rid of him so I knew this day would be rough. He was getting up there, but still had a solid 3-4 years left. I didn't hang around on the phone call for exact details but apparently he died from being run over, by my dad. I want to be insanely angry at someone not letting me know but I can only imagine how my dad feels. Don't even want to let other friends/family know because I know it's going to ruin their day as if he was theirs, but I guess I need to. Done rambling, just needed to vent a little
Think my little dog has a cold. Lot of sniffling and sneezing. Anytime she wakes up I can tell she's congested. Reading some remedies. Might run the shower for awhile and see if that helps her. She was a the Vet about a month ago so I don't think anything major is wrong.
Put in an application for one of these guys today. Seems to be a ton of interest so I doubt I get one, but I'm hoping.
Sorry to hear that dude, it absolutely sucks. I was at college when my dad called to tell me they finally had to put down the lab we had grown up with. First time I ever cried in front of my girlfriend/wife/ex-wife. I think hearing my dad crying and knowing how he was feeling was even harder.
Sorry to hear that. I know those feels. It will get better. I still get sad thinking about when my dad had to put my Bassett down when I was 15 or so. Got bit on the nose by a snake and left us too soon. I grew up in the country and didn't have many friends that lived close to us so he was literally me and my brothers best friend. We would roam the country and do hood rat things every day after school. Spoiler
I'm really lucky that my two dogs will live forever because I couldn't survive losing either of them.
Haven't posted in this thread in awhile. Its funny that my dog was our kid and then we had a kid and the dog went back to being a dog. I feel bad because we used to decide to do a lot of activities with the dog in mind - drivings to parks, taking the dog to the farmers market, bars/restaurants that were pet friendly on the patio...that all went out the window. She adjusted really well over the last year to now a toddler crawling around the house and only issue actually came when the Cubs won the world series and she decided to chew my work bag, the baby's mat and a number of other items around the house as the fireworks from people celebrating a week or so ago freaked her out. And thats my dog update.
