although, i will say that bernard is now dressing in the same style "arnold" does in his conversations with dolores. so i can now definitely see those being bernard in on the maeve coup after all of this shit.
While the last 30-45 minutes of the episodes were awesome, when Maeve was talking about "assembling her army" and simply manipulating hosts with voice commands, it was the first time all season I've thought "that's kind of dumb." Doesn't really effect the overall show, just something I thought. I thought this episode disproved the two timelines. Everything with Dolores made it seem like everything else she's been experiencing/all her different scenes have been in the past and she's re-living everything right now during the present with William. Plus, the MIB's admission/narrative about WHY he's finally searching for the maze---nothing at all to do with the meltdown/malfunction 30 years ago. It seems like MIB and Dolores/William are going to meet up in real time. I think everything is going on is present time, and every other time frame we've seen has just been a flashback. Either Bernard or Security guy (can't remember his name) knows what happened to Elsie. Security guy was obviously tipped off when Bernard denied having an affair with Theresa, and it seemed like he was testing him and/or knew something when he asked the follow-up question about Elsie. Anybody else notice this? So is Sylvester/douche programmer alive? That was a nifty little tool. I guess the Asian programmer just decided not to delete here? It seemed like when Maeve was talking, she and Asian programmer already had a deal in place. Looks like Maeve has been smart for a loooong time. Still haven't really addressed the issue of who was tinkering with Maeve's programming "more in depth" when they first noticed---or could that have been them uploading her data? So. Much. Going. On. Love it
Wow, that was amazing. It's going to take me awhile to process. It's almost like the entire show is one loop and there is no before and after. So confused.
Didn't MiB mention being married 30 yrs and his wife knowing all the things he had done at westworld and that made her eventually kill her self?
The church buried really threw my timeline off. Still trying to process. MiB reminded me of Locke from Lost in this episode.
I need to go back and listen closer, but i thought it was more general than that---as in she kind of knew what kind of an evil guy he was deep down. Definitely think she committed suicide rather than "take the wrong pills," as he put it. I don't remember anything specific re: 30 years, but may have missed it.
When Dolores was freaking out at the end, talking about "where" am I, and "are you real" to William, that absolutely had to be in the present. Those were all past experiences. There's no other way to explain it. Thus, William is in the present and not MIB 30 years earlier. Also eliminates Logan. Further, MIB's backstory has nothing to do with the park, but seems independent of the meltdown/malfunction 30 years ago.
I think the timelines are flip flopped or something like that. We may have it backwards. In any case just read the most amazing theory. This is Bill and Teds Excellemt Adventure or Bogus Journey. This is a must read. Also talks about the Sylvester and tweety bird stuff. Very entertaining. Ted 'Theodore' Logan
Yeah there were quite a few recognizable characters in the little town while Delores was wigging out at the end
Ok, I am unconfused. 1) Arnold is alive before the park is open (34+ years ago) (church intact) 2) William is with Dolores (unknown time, but assumed around 30 years ago when the park first opens)(church destroyed) 3) MIB is looking for the maze (present)(church, tbd)
Also, Maeve's flashback when her "child" was killed, the MIB admitted he did that just to 'test the limits,' or get off the narrative, etc. We know that was a long time ago. And we know MIB did it, not William, not anybody else. I think that's more evidence against the dual timeline theory
How do we know it was a long time ago? I thought MIB started to test his limits a year ago and I don't remember Maeve indicating she knows the time of her memories.
MiB also looked old af when he killed Maeve's daughter so I don't think that happened a long time ago. But didn't they say in an earlier episode she started at the brothel 10 years ago? My head hurts.
She thought ten years ago, Felix said it had been a little over a year. Fits in with MiB killing her not that long ago.
Could be wrong but I'm not 100% sure that 1 and 3 are the same. Lips and eyes seem a little off, but could be wrong
Also, how is it possible that Bernard was the one that choked Elsie? Weren't they on the phone and she was talking to him (while he was in the facility) like seconds before the attack?
I think I'm with BamaNug on this one. She was freaking out, had found this town in the past (the church) and was there now and it was gone. Or maybe not, the board lady said Ford was almost done with his narrative so you'd think the church would be dug up by now. Man I'm fucking confused. So at the beginning of the park she was learning how to dance, then when William comes to the park she's a introductory host, and at some point (either before or after William enters the park) she is a crazed lady helping Wyatt (part of the new (is it even new, it's being dug up so it's happened before) story). FUCK. I agree it's evidence against a dual timeline. I think. I don't know anymore. Definitely was Bernard choking out Elsie (RIP TLAU ). They had been on the phone earlier, but iirc, there was a scene or two in between them talking and her getting got, so with all we know about the elevator entrances all over the park, it could have easily been enough time.
I'm so fucking confused. I'm going to have to rewatch all of these episodes again before the final two to see what I can put together. I'll give it to them, they made things seem a lot clearer last week and then just muddied the waters up again this week. I love it.
Anyone else think Ford is a host with everything maxed out like a video game, thanks to the Maeve scenes?
William is supposed to be married when he gets home from the park. MIB mentions 30 years of marriage.
Man, I thought this episode confirmed both a duel timeline and that Bernard was Arnold. Now y'all got me second guessing......
Mib wife killed herself because she found out he was in love with a robot. Arnold was human, Ford may not be.
Also if Delores and William were current wouldn't park people be wondering where the fuck she was going, doing? Especially when she was able to shoot guys in pariah?
They aren't current. They are 30 years ago. The church threw me off, but then I realized the intact town was Arnold's pre-park years 5 years earlier. Also, I meant to mention this picture. Act 1 Lure Act 2 Incident Act 3 Assault My wife spotted it right away. We see the blonde chick and we see the beast. I suspect Wyatt is the covered picture.
I'm back to Delores and William being more current. They are going to meet MIB and Teddy eventually. Going to feel good to be right.
Dolores and William are in a past timeline just after Arnold dies, probably at the hands of Ford (or a host). They're in the church town after Ford decided to bury it to cover up Arnold's death. Dolores is flashing back to her 4 years at the parks inception when it was just the original workers (they're all dancing with simplistic commands). We're also seeing Dolores duplicate the same path by herself in a current timeline hence all the flashes to her by herself. Ford is currently digging up the old church town where all the original host are from (Dolores and Maeve, the little Spanish girl) for some end game. We're going to see Teddy, MiB and Dolores all meet up. My best guest is William or Dolores kill Logan and that sets William on the path of apathy toward his wife and 30 years of a loveless marriage where he's more consumed with the park. His path of discovery with the maze is only a year and a half old. Logan might rape and murder Dolores and toss her down the river (the flashback to her body in the river is from the current timeline) and William kills him since no other host is around. Or, like Maeve protecting her daughter cutting the MiB's neck, Logan is beating the shit out of William and instead of just stopping him she brutally injured him or kills him. All part of the fragmented memory which happened to Maeve.
