1. I'm an older gamer, 3 kids, meat of my career climb. Lost the time to play and the transition of games to online didn't appeal to me at all. It was all about the campaign. Star Wars Battlefront (surprisingly) got me online and enjoying the multiplayer online aspects. Overwatch has now caught my attention. Been watching vids, reading forums and it's piqued my interest. Game looks crazy fun. 2. Not the right thread to say this but I just grabbed an Xbox One S for my boys and to keep them off of the PS4, Overwatch might be something I get them on the XBone. 3. One thing I've noticed is exclusively multiplayer online games have a ferocious community. I think jumping into these games late is a daunting task, some might find it intimidating. I enjoyed the challenge of getting to be a decent SWB player and the challenge of Overwatch sounds/looks pretty damn badass.
Regardless of console, for your kids or yourself, I definitely recommend it. Blizzard is an incredible dev company and they have the right man leading the way. It's only been out since May, 6 months into a game whose lifespan is controlled by Blizzard is nothing. But you're right about the communities surrounding pvp-centric games. However, with Overwatch they're constantly doing balancing updates that completely change how the game feels so really you wouldn't be too far behind. Not only thay but new modes/maps/heroes for free on a regular basis for the life of the game. Outside of raiding in Destiny there is nothing more rewarding than a team in Overwatch clicking perfectly and absolutely steamrolling over the other team. Plus, it's really outstanding visually assuming you aren't turned off by the pixar-esque animation.
PC...I get most games on PC unless they are bad console ports, or have issues with hackers (ex. Any call of duty) I mainly use the consoles for exclusives
Blizzard is World of Warcraft so their world building, online DLC and replay ability is one of the things that caught my attention with Overwatch. The animation style doesn't bother me. The characters look diverse and fun. The multitude of maps is looks great too. What's the primary game mode? I think I'll pick it up for Xbox but eventually end up getting it for PS4.
Primary game modes are 6v6 escort amd king of the hill. They recently added a 3v3 elimination that seems to be very popular and will probably make it's way to competitive by Season 4 imo (season 3 started this week and usually lasts a few months). They've played around with a horde mode during the halloween event. People liked it so they are probably working on something similar but permanent.
Does anyone know any fixes on a TV issue with the PS4 Pro that I am having? I own a Samsung UN55KS model UHD TV and have the HDR turned on with the settings to match on the PS4 PRO and the damn TV keeps flashing to a black screen on me. It's annoying as hell and I have to keep turning the damn HDR range off and back on to stop it.
i have the same concern, but I don't think it will be like that. Seems like a good premise, an engaging character, unless the game just devolves to fetch quests, I think it will be very good.
Don't get me wrong I enjoy steam rolling on Overwatch but the most fun I have in that game is when both teams are up to par and the game provides intensity like nothing else I experience. It cannot be said enough what an amazing and fun experience Overwatch is. Do I rage? Sure. Do I wanna send Hanzo guy and attack Bastion angry messages when they refuse to switch? Multiple times a day. But if I go nine matches dealing with the shit I loathe about Overwatch and the tenth is that perfect experience then I can log off completely satisfied and there isn't one other game I've played this gen (or many ever) that I can say that about. Bring on season 3
i'm down to go hard into some comp this season. while i'm not particularly great i like playing roles most don't and have a pretty wide hero pool.
Just got Skyrim Remastered Spoiler and never played the original As a big FO3/FO4 guy, super :bartscott:
The first one collapsed under the weight of all that hype. Took me a year to beat. From all accounts, I've heard the 2nd one is a major step in the right direction.
Not sure if y'all are driving game types, but i'm looking for a PS4 game to scratch that itch, and Project Cars is cheap and well reviewed. Anyone played it?
If you need a laugh download The Deadly Tower of Monsters one of the free Nov games it is hysterical and a just a fun over head action adventure game.
I got bored of watch dogs after a couple weeks of owning it. It had the same monotony that everyone grew to hate about assassins creed. Maybe the second one is better though. I've played the steep beta. Pretty fun game, but not sure I'm willing to pay $60 for it.
PS4 broke and it's outside of warentee. 120 to fix with Sony. What do I do fam, eat the extra 200 and buy a ps pro?
If the extra 200 isn't a big deal then...sure? You can probably sell the broken one on eBay for some money too. Someone will take it and get it fixed.
It's a limited edition white destiny version, anyone with an idea of how much I would list it for as broken?
wow. I'm surprised they didn't keep that until PSX but damn that looks good. Whatever the hell its going to be.
New title : PS4 Remastered: Some of us have bad opinions J/k Jeffrey Lebowski , we accept and respect all opinions ITT, no matter their quality
Over the past year I would say: For campaign/story I like Witcher 3, Titanfall 2, Forza Horizon 3, Gears 4, Legion But I mainly play multiplayer: Rocket League, Overwatch, Battlefield, CoD zombies, etc I also like building games/time wasters on pc like Terraria, Factorio, Stardew Valley
Don't get me wrong, Naughty Dog can make a hell of story. No argument there. I just think their game mechanic design is pure shit (just my opinion)
