All you need is an HDMI switch. Plug the switch into the TV, then plug your devices into the box. Get one that comes with a remote though, when I bought one, looked like most required you to manually switch the inputs on the device itself.
afb what was that streaming site you gave me when we were having trouble finding The Circus? It was pretty good iirc and I want to fwd it to a friend I dont trust to torrance
Truman http://newepisodes.me/watch-the-cir...online-free/65339/season-1-episode-14-game-on #5034 that's the post from the election thread, but doesn't look like the video works
so here's an interesting offer https://directvnow.com/appletv#slide2 DirecTV now has a new streaming app on Apple TV and right now they are running a promotion for $35 a month (normally $60) and if you pay 3 months in advanced you get a 4th gen apple tv . Their app is basically a directv box but in an app.
Anyone have problems with the watchespn app on Roku. My quality on it has been absolute shit for the last couple weeks. Have reinstalled the app a couple times with no improvement. My internet speed isn't the problem as I consistently pull 100+ mbps
That app is shit for me on my ps4 and firetv. Consistently buffering and dropping resolution. I don't have those issues on any other apps.
Slightly related, but my dad finally understood that he doesn't want to continue renting the modem/router combo from Comcast and wants to buy his own router and modem. Recommendations?
How did you manage to convince him? Need some advice, been trying to get my parents to do the same with Comcast for like a decade now.
And I got him to cancel his home phone service which is literally only telemarketers calling. Just showed him his bill and explained to him.
MY parents finally cut that cord about 8 years ago. After many, many tries, I was able to convince my mom her reasons for wanting to keep a landline were beyond stupid.
My mom has a flip phone and still struggles to figure out how to use it. EDIT: and she's had this phone for over 5 years now. I think she might be ever so gradually figuring it got since I got a text message from her two days ago and she claimed she didn't need help sending it.
Comcast has a list of modem/routers on the website that are compatible. https://customer.xfinity.com/help-and-support/internet/list-of-approved-cable-modems/
It's definitely intriguing. It still doesn't solve the issue of sports streaming and the quality. Plus idk how long the $35 price lasts bc after that, that package is $60/month which is standard.
what do you mean? a friend of mine brought it up to a church meeting we had and afterward we were waetching ACC Network and the quality was fine (HD) or am I missing something? Yeah I am not sure either, but right now it beats the hell out of the $120/month I'm paying for DirecTV and I'll no longer have to rent any damn equipment.
Streaming sports for me has been hit or miss. It'll be great then all of a sudden freeze and for sports that really ruins it for me. Not to mention streaming is generally a solid minute or two behind, so using TMB or social media while watching it is pointless.
I can see that. But I tend to text with people about games so it makes it incredibly difficult when i'm a few plays behind or they're a few plays ahead.
I disagree with the streaming of sports being behind on DIRECTV Now...it's definitely behind when you use the Watch ESPN app or the fox sports app, but it's way ahead of those streams on DIRECTV Now. Also for the question about DIRECTV Now increasing to $60 a month, it does for all people who sign up after January 10th. But if you sign up before that, you are grandfathered in at the $35 price.
Yea it has the chance to increase as prices go up and they add channels. But so what, then just cancel, you aren't locked in any contract and can cancel at anytime. Hell I prepaid 3 months for $105 (the exact amount I was paying for 1 months worth of cable) and got a free Apple TV that I was looking to buy anyway.
I've used the app, ps vue, and sling and they've all been pretty far behind. From a quality Standpoint, casting from an android phone to a new chrome cast seems to be the best...imo.
As I mentioned above, so what if it does I can just cancel as there's no contract. My point was that when Directv cancels their promo of the $35 a month, my bill isn't automatically going to $60, but instead I'll still be paying $35. Sure overtime it might increase, but not once the promo is over with.
So Verizon is trying to merge with Charter, who just merged with Time Warner Cable, and AT&T, who just merged with Direct TV is merging with Time Warner. This is fine.
Comcast just added on another $4/month broadcast sports right fee to my bill and announced the new Roku app I have eagerly been awaiting for a year will cost a monthly fee. Funny enough this is finally the breaking point, decided I'm going to cut down to just internet and add Hulu to my existing Netflix/Amazon Video subscriptions. A Sling package might be in my future but for now the price gouging has worn me down...
Have you guys heard anything about the Exodus addon going away? Something about the main developer retiring?
Haven't heard about that, but if it happens, something else will come along. SALTS is already pretty similar to Exodus anyways.
Do y'all know of any web base platforms that show the list of films and documentaries that are currently on Netflix. I'd like to use that as a search tool for things that I haven't seen. Also, any new plug ins that I should consider adding to Kodi?
I'm still pretty new to Kodi so. . . no. I run Exodus, Youtube, Phoenix and Zem. If you have subs to Netflix and Prime can that work through Kodi?
Yahoo video guide is an app that searches all streaming sites. You have to add what streaming services you have
Not sure if this is helpful, but I think it's cool. You can filter to show only movies on Netflix, Prime, HBO and you can organize by release dates, tomato meter, genre, etc. https://www.rottentomatoes.com/browse/dvd-all/
I'm trying to figure out where the signup page is for this but it either seems to be down or I'm an idiot. Link?
http://romaworks.co/affiliates/idevaffiliate.php?id=smoothstreams is the sign up link. Romaworks is one of the front companies for smoothstreams. Once you sign up they will send you detailed instructions on how to access the streams. You can then watch via HTML web browser or use the Kodi or Plex addins. For me it is worth paying the $13/month to not have to worry about finding a HD quality link for any PPV or sporting event. A few more details in this thread:
